I have Muscular Dystrophy and during college some friends and I went to Johnny Carino's and we parked in a handicapped spot. We were getting out of the car and some woman came from inside the restaurant and told me I couldn't park there because it was for handicapped people and I don't look handicapped when just standing around.

I am now 40 and continue to park in handicapped spots, and shock, I can carry things even though I am physically disabled. Mind your own business.

What's really frosty is all of the big box stores converting Handicap parking spots to curb side pickup spots. Most of the time the curb pickups are empty.

Local HEB doing parking lot resurfacing this month with half the total lot unavailable for anybody. But HEB hired a guard carrying a big beautiful weapon to oversee the empty curb pick up spots. I had a conversation with the store manager about that not representing their neighborhood friendly image.

I park in the pickup spots. Not gonna park further away so some lazy frick can get their stuff delivered to their car. Put the pickup spots in the back or side.

I take a handicapped old-timer grocery shopping, drop him at the door, then point out the spot I'm going to park in using his handicapped tag. I've never had anyone question me getting out of the car, but wonder if they think I'm one of the fakers.

The one thing I've noticed handicapped people do with amazing regularity is leave their cart wherever they want. Bush league for sure

It’s become another way to shamelessly game the system.

If you’re gonna drop him at the door, why use a handicap spot to park? You’re a lazy frick too. But I’m sure you will justify your actions in your mind.

No need to justify anything. He's 83, handicapped and can't drive anymore. It's what it's for.

You on the other hand are a miserable fricktard and can kiss his crippled arse.

illegal tag or not, it’s irrelevant if it’s not enforced by PD

You have to know you’re in the extreme minority. If you’re handicapped then you cannot possibly be oblivious to all the able bodied fricks using the HC spots.

And yes, the usual suspects of course are the prime offenders. No shame at all, ever.

That stuff really ticks me off. My wife's legit disabled and still had to jump through hoops with ParkingMD to get her approved. Then you see perfectly healthy people abusing the system for convenience

No they are not. They can't just get rid of handicap parking spaces or "convert" them to non handicap spaces. You must be mistaken.

Get out walk in the store, shop, walk out and load your car. The fake people fat asses that use it piss me off, and they take the electric carts to move the girth around.

He legitimately had no idea the spot was for a cop to come pick up shoplifters

I realize that's probably what the law enforcement spot is for, but do you really think a cop is gonna casually park in the parking lot before going in to deal with a shoplifter? They're parking that cruiser right by the front door.

In my experience most Leos park in or near the fire lane.

That’s fair and I thought about that. But why would they have the tag in their console and not already up?

I have a handicap tag and don't leave mine up. I always thought there was a law saying not to because it obscures your view.
