We can make all kinds of logical arguments as to why the virus response was overblown and how we can't let it happen again. But the bottom line is people like JBE and Latoya call the shots and control more of your life than you care to admit. Freedom is just an illusion.

If you'd like, you're free to live off the grid and avoid all benefits you currently receive from your local, state & federal governments.

I don't see how that's possible. You'd have to pay property taxes at the very least, no? And if you traded with others that would be subject to taxes, possibly. You wouldn't be able to just buy a car or pay for healthcare unless you were able to find cash-only operations.

It takes people just accepting that they have authority or it takes cops/military to be mindless fricking jackbooted automotons.
I dont believe the 2nd would happen in large scale. Too many good people in those professions that view themselves as citizens first and cops/soldiers 2nd.
Scenario: JBE says you have to do something. You tell him to frick off. He points and yells "Arrest this man!" The cops also tell him to frick off. Whats that pussy going to do. His power is fake.
Sure if its one guy telling him to frick himself....hes probably gonna get served and protected. But a large portion of the public? They aint doing shite.
Unfortunately the public are far bigger morons and pussies than the government. And there in lies the authority.

Just curious, what is the alternative? You really want to start a civil war over what is certainly temporary restrictions?

and what is equally troubling is that so many people give themselves away to authority about which they know nothing. And the authorities know nothing about them.
What ever happened to the old joke, "I'm from the federal government, and I'm here to help you"? Good God, every Karen, Kevin, and Ronnie who didn't want to rock the boat or get FB shamed, ran inside and just said "OK"
