Its a shame liberals cannot or will not understand this simple fact.
What country in the world does not actively guard its borders and people coming into the country?
Oh, wait...everybody look at Europe to see the result of refusing to guard one's borders! From Greece to the UK to Spain to Germany.

dont care for the guy but i'm pretty sure almost every college president in the nation is sending the same email right now.

So, you're saying that he doesn't have the balls to swim against the tide of the overly-PC world of fuzzy headed academia?

This is all I need to know about anything to automatically support it 100%.

for the same reasons you don't hear a lot of college football coaches speaking out against #blacklivesmatter

sometimes when you represent something bigger than yourself you have to put your personal beliefs aside and go with the politically correct statement

So almost 2 hours go by and you choose not to reply to my post showing the difference between the statements LSU and Purdue made compared with the statements that aTm and UNO made.

How many college football coaches did you hear speaking out in support of #blaccklivesmatter? We all saw the shite show that went down at Missouri and how that affected enrollment there.

because your point was idiotic. saying the order caused alarm isnt the same as saying he hated the legislation. it definitely has caused alarm, thats a fact. there have been headlines about it on the front page of newspapers all over the world

just because you support it doesnt mean you get to pretend noone is alarmed by it

I never said I supported it. I will say that I support the way aTm and UNO are reacting to it. If someone happens that causes you to be concerned for a portion of your community, then reach out to that segment and let them know what you can do to help them. I still don't know what LSU has offered to do to help students and faculty from those 7 countries. If anyone from LSU has reached out to you and told you want they are doing for those people, please post it hear. I'm sure people would like to know.

LSU e-mail isnt about helping people that cant get back (because I doubt there are any), its about avoiding the SJW students and people that are against the ban starting some kind of on-campus rally like the one at Texas A&M

come out, issue a statement/email showing we care about the people potentially affected by this, blah blah, avoid backlash that people will try to make up if you remain silent on the subject

also putting LSUs "this has caused significant alarm" in the same category as Purdue's “The President's order related to immigration is a bad idea, poorly implemented, and I hope that he will promptly revoke and rethink it. If the idea is to strengthen the protection of Americans against terrorism, there are many far better ways to achieve it.” is a pretty big stretch.

If you didn't like LSU's email I would like to know your thoughts on Notre Dame's response

quote:

Faculty at the University of Notre Dame passed a sanctuary campus resolution last week, and hundreds of students and faculty staged a walkout in support of people illegally residing in the country. The resolution states, in part, that officials with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Customs and Border Protection or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services will not be allowed on campus for enforcement purposes unless a warrant requires it.

University Presidents should not be sending emails for no reason other than to spout out their own political beliefs. The other one you posted is even worse.

Why is that ok with you? It shouldn't the the norm. And if it is, then the norm should be changed. Not accepted.

because I never wouldve even known about it if not for seeing it on this forum... you would almost have to be looking for something to bitch about to be upset about something as small as an email sent to a college campus mailing list

and I do happen to think legislation that could potentially affect some percentage of the student population in this country or their family members is one of the few things college admins do have business being involved with

we have to listen to hollywood entertainers discuss politics all the fricking time, i dont like it, but at least i can accept the reality of the world we live in.

My thoughts? frick them.

I've read the order. It was created under Obama and it specifically lists protocol for non-citizen immigrants and tourists from 7 known countries that actively harbor terrorists. Why anyone has a problem with that is bizarre to me.

Since Notre Dame supports people who violate federal and state government laws, and is actively offering asylum to those people, I say you withdraw all state and federal support to their campus. Tell them they do not have to abide by the order, but they also are not allowed to benefit from the government.
