Okay serious question: is F. King hated just because of issues surrounding athletics and (especially) the football team? If so, then I don't get the outrage if he's good at the other stuff.

He's not popular on this board, but the fact he's being considered for such a prestigious position indicates he's very higly regarded. It's one of the top academic posts in the country, if not the world.

He’s been very meh. Hasn’t done anything to better LSU-BR. More worried about whining at the capitol about muh budget cuts rather than look for ways to improve the university, trim fat, etc.... he’s basically your typical liberal academic and LSU needs something better.
