For gods sake this needs its own thread after everyone in the twerking thread seems to be clueless
The holistic requirements and push for black students was from F king Alexander. For fricks sake the internet exists. How people are attributing this to Tate is wild

F king is literally the worst thing to happen to LSU in the last 100 years. Its bad when you make Joe Dean look competent.

But yall get on here and say HBCUs are not needed, then the next breathe its LSU has too many minorities.

I believe those two opinions can be reconciled by the belief that people scoring 13s on the ACT should not be going to college period.

it's bad when you leave a mess behind and then get fired at Oregon St for past transgressions
hiring Joe Alleva was just as bad for athletics

Yes, if they cannot compete academically.
The issue is "holistic" admissions.
AKA, lowered standards for minorities.

Thanks for posting, great information. I have seen the stuff on here about Tate so it's good to know where it really came from.

You need to take a break from the internet. I’m seriously concerned for your health

na Joe wasnt even that bad. Joe Dean Was way worse. Alleva was just an arrogant prick who couldnt close the deal. He actually wasnt a terrible AD overall. I still hate him though

colleges in general have too many folks regardless of race that don’t need to be there. Its a money grab.

Do you work for LSU admissions? Where did you get this statement from? Can you tell us where that data comes from? I would like to know what percentage of incoming freshman turned in ACT scores. Unless every incoming freshman turned in an ACT score, you can't hang your hat on that stat. This is extremely dishonest.
It doesn't matter who started holistic / test optional admittance. The fact that it is still allowed to continue is the problem.

TYFYS former LSU Chancellor Sean O'Keefe - thank you for the full, out-of-state, tuition exemption and Chancellor's Student Aide academic scholarship. ACT scores matter.

Why do minorities need so many degrees in lightweight DEI majors? Give them only useful, legit degrees and you will have fewer of them across the board.
Are you slow or did you fake like you couldn't figure that out?
They probably have been getting financial aid at grossly higher levels than actual students, too?
Do all these idiotic black public officials "have degrees"?
edit for spelling error

He was awful.
Also, IMO college degrees have lost their value. Of course depending on what field you are in, some are worth more than others, but at this point if you can't get into one school does it really matter? You just go somewhere else, get the same degree. Sure, going to the better schools my give you an upper hand at opportunities, but if someone goes to Yale to get a degree in African studies will they have a better chance of not getting a job in that field?

I made this same argument in the twerk thread. The response was that freshmen aren't required to turn in ACT scores anymore so it skews higher. I'd be willing to accept that if it weren't for the fact that LSU's retention and graduation rates went up under Tate too. Now, you could argue that they made courses easier, but that's starting to stretch things. Am I supposed to believe Tate was telling professors to pass kids that should've been failing? Grade inflation is a thing in high school but I doubt professors in 2000, 3000, 4000 level classes give a shite if you fail and could be coerced to pass you.

That would be impressive if testing wasn’t optional.
But since you posted it, you’re saying you believe that this is the most intelligent freshman class in the history of LSU (in the ACT era)?
