Superhornets drop 103 Perdix Drones and execute a series of manuevers. Be sure to listen to the drones flying around at the 2:19 mark.
They've been dubbed "Hell's Mosquitos"
Perdix drones are the main subject of an experimental project conducted by the Strategic Capabilities Office of the United States Department of Defense which aims to develop autonomous micro-drones to be used for unmanned aerial surveillance

The video is focused on recon. The drones scout out areas, swarm around objects and then move on. I was merely suggesting an alternative use that they have not yet tested.

They don't have to be reverse engineered, totally autonomous drones that can fly to a predefined target, identify it and destroy it are available of the shelf to anyone with the means to pay for them. The fear now is that a terrorist group will get a dozen of them outfitted with a 4 1/2 pound explosive charge and program them to fly to and identify things like aircraft on the ground, land on the planes and detonate. There is no defense as two guys could launch a attack from a van only yards outside a airport/military base fence or other targets like the White House, there would be no time to react.
