Just heard there was an explosion at Marathon in Garyville. Any of you baws heard anything?

I live about 15 miles from Marathon and it shook my house. Very loud.

They were starting up a unit(just finished turnaround) when explosion happened. Trying to contain fire now.

Hopefully their start up procedures call for all personnel to clear out of the unit.

That's crazy. I didn't hear it in Gonzales and it's quiet in my house. Sound must travel over Lake Maurpas better than the swamp.

Any news links/info yet? I have a few friends that work there.

Likely the opposite. There’s a lot of field surveillance when starting up any unit.

We are at our camp on the Diversion and it shook the house.

One of our guys where on the phone with a PM in their admin building as soon as I saw this. He didn't say anything... hopefully no one was hurt.
