I like the idea of an open kitchen and dining area, which is somewhat sectioned off from the LR. Maybe separated by a big cased opening or tucked around corner. That way there’s still space for everyone to hang in the K/DR if they want, but if you want to watch TV you don’t have the dishes being done in your ear. Very rarely do I find myself cooking AS the game is going on.

Personally i like the open concept for the kitchen, informal dining room and living room.
I think offices, bedroom's, theater/play rooms should all be seperate same with formal dining even though I believe formal dining is a wasted space.
I think Halls are a huge waste of space and I think walls sectioning off rooms makes everything seem small, even in very large houses.

When house hunting, we looked at a house that had one of these stupid things RIGHT off the front door. Easily one of the dumbest things I saw while hunting.
