Just passed by. The westbound lane of Hollywood st is backed up from plank to foster. And oodles of people standing in line outside. Bunched up, no masks, kids running everywhere.
For a free donut.
I mean shite are these people’s time and gas and energy not worth a 50 cent donut?
I mean you’d think someone with half a brain in their head could think, “if I want a donut that bad I could go to Mary lees and spend less than a dollar and save hours of my time and gas”

Krispy Kreme has been closed for months. it's not about a free donut, it's about a donut they haven't been able to get in a long time. You don't think there's going to be a line around the block when Hubig starts selling pies again?

there are self entitled lazy government dependent leaches.
explain how my father, with 8 brothers and sisters, grew up 30+ miles from a grocery store and managed to have vegetables with every single meal growing up.

Man, a donut is a donut and especially a regular glazed one...there isn’t much difference between places.
The problem is that when you make a “free” anytihing, it draws out the low IQ people who are unable to do cost benefit analysis.
If the line is too long, go somewhere else, or come back a different time.
But with the “free” donut, people see the long lines and like sheep just get in a line behind it.

They lacked buyers because those evil Fast Food restaurants make their food so much cheaper and more convenient. The government should force those fast food places to close in poor areas and force quality grocers to expand into NBR. Then we could start to erase the historic inequality.

Probably also that they are difficult to staff adequately and have massive amounts of theft. No grocery store would willing close a profitable location because it happens to be in a black area of town.
The Real Superstore on Greenwell Springs used to be a thriving, nice grocery store. The demographics changed in the area and their business suffered because of it.

I grew up off Hollywood in the 60’s and 70’s on Longfellow. Krispy Kreme was at the corner of Plank and Hollywood along with a two story whore house where Walgreens was. The strip mall across Plank Road from Krispy Kreme had Go Go girls. It was good days back then. My grandmother’s yard was near it and when the ladies who loved me a lot would go to work from the back door I would say go go. My father and grandfather knew this was going on they just wanted to let me have fun. The Go Go girls either came to the fence giving me a candy bar or a kiss on the cheek until my cousin told on me. When I was four and five years old that was golden. No matter how old I get Go Go Girl’s will always be 21 yrs old not a year older.
They had grocery stores all over that area.
Delmont Village had an A&P & a fruit stand that turned into Tony’s Seafood, Kroger was at the corner of Airline and Plank, Colonial shopping Center had a grocery store Hollywood & Airline. You even had Scallians Meat Market and a fruit stand off N Foster & Airline near that fishing bait and tackle store.
They had grocery stores all over that area.

Such incredible dishonest reporting. Nothing new. It’s the only thing they really excel at. I guess you have to be good at something.

My great aunt used to live a few houses behind that store. I remember walking up there by myself to buy candy at like 7-8 yrs old.
