The other explanation is the entering particles aren't actually the ones exiting, it's other particles. This could be possible thru quantum entanglement.
Wrong.

Pretty much all quantum physics

It matters from many angles, not the least of which that a going theory is that time is a dimension similar to the three you are used to observing; L,W,H; and if this is indeed the case it can be traversed and interacted with in a similar manner. Possibly even observed from another higher dimension. At which point you could just pick “where you want to be” instead of having to stay stuck in one place while it moves “through” you linearly in a single direction and at one set speed relatively speaking. What would also be interesting would be to find out is space-time has a measureable viscosity. That would be a big deal for the idea of a light barrier and have cosmic implications on our view of reality. Literally.

A negative impact on scientific progression based on allocation of recourses

I'd like to imagine the ghost of your great great grandfather looking down at the world today, with computers, the Internet, air conditioning, etc... and remembering when his dumbass was talking shite to Ben Franklin for flying a kite with a metal key on it. "What the hell are you going to do with lighting bolt stuff Ben?"

Quantum computing is pretty cool.

So it’s finally happening

He seems mostly to be a hater of string theory, which is reasonable.

It means their grant money is running out so they have to publish something no one understands as a way to justify getting more.

I think it probably has more "down to earth" implication for material science as far as how light and materials work together. Essentially these folks are looking at the phenomenon of negative group delay. They wondered if the delay (or the “negative” delay) happens because light spends time interacting with the atoms inside the material and it not just being measurement mistakes. Sometimes, light can do weird things that seem impossible, like coming out of a material before it should. But when we look closely, we find that it’s because of real interactions happening inside.
Its cool and like I've said through this post every little bit of knowledge is important but the article made a fairly simple experiment sound like we've made some astonishing breakthrough in our understanding of time ...That not really the case.

I already use Castrol in my truck. I even use the synthetic. Now, I feel much more sciency.
In all seriousness, my posts weren’t intended to diminish the importance of scientific discovery. I just didn’t see the value in this. After reading some of your posts, I’ll somewhat back away from that position…somewhat. I am admittedly NOT a man of science.

Sounds like you are re-evaluating your position based on new observation. sounds sciency Perhaps you are more a man of science than you think
