The worst for me was when my friends and I went to San Diego where everything was so clean and beautiful
I know it’s technically part of San Diego but the singular reason I don’t live there (at least part time) is that I’m not wealthy.
frick living in a shithole.

I went to college in Houston. I would spend nine months of the year looking at tall skyscrapers, horizontal traffic signals and thirty minute traffic runs.
Summer is here and I drive home crossing the missippi river bridge in Baton Rouge and I think I have arrived in a country town with refineries puffing out the smoke.

Tell me about Chula Vista. Specifically, why can’t they field a grounder and throw to first?!
/sorry for the spillover from the Rant.

Should try and move to the Pensacola/Ft Walton area if possible. Only 4 hrs or so from family in BR.
I've been considering this. What areas/counties in the western part of panhandle are good? I'd rather be North of I-10 as to avoid beach traffic in everyday life.

Louisiana sucks, but you would have the sads if you were going back to Malibu. Nobody likes coming home from vacation.
I always think of this Onion headline whenever the subject of coming home from a vacation comes up.

Louisiana’s frickin awesome. No place is perfect. If y’all whiney babies can’t take Louisiana, get the Frick out and stop whining on TD about it.

Think about this. You are passing through the “nicest” part of the state.
And I love and still believe in my home state.

Only thing louisiana is good for is crawfish. Once they have texas crawfish farms...

Nah, stretch of interstate from New Orleans East into the Westbank is worse

In North Texas I don't mind returning home after a vacation. Should try living some place you like.

I’m in Breckenridge CO right now and I can’t believe how trashy the roads and smaller cities are around here. It looks terrible.
Maybe it’s a bad time or something but man it’s got me wondering what the hell is the problem.
It looks like a trailer park near mamou.

Felt that way about Corpus Christi when I lived there. Turned out to be low grade depression. Woooo!
Get funk out, man.

Yep. I feel really bad for older people, or really poor people who never left the state their entire lives.

Outside of seafood and LSU sports, the place has turned to shite in my lifespan.

Not to be contrarian, but I love getting back home from vacation. I'm only fully comfy and relaxed at my house. Plus I'm a severe creature of habit and enjoy the routine of home.
Also, I'm not driving back to Louisianna as you seem to not like it there. I like my town and area in NC.
Vacations are fun though, don't get me wrong.
