I moved all day yesterday in the scorching heat, packing a large storage unit full to the brim, and still have shite to move/dispose of today and then need to clean up my house for the closing tomorrow. I would say moving is the pinnacle of first world problems. There is nothing worse.

Not trying to be an a-hole, but I like moving. I find it satisfying and exciting.

Moving is the worst thing in the entire world

No one is going to say your wrong

Edit: Someone apparently just tried to say moving is fun. They are wrong.

I would think death is worse.

And you just admitted you’re poor. You didn’t hire movers.

We moved last year. I moved stuff to 3 storage units for 6 months, and we still had to close and move to an apartment for a month before our house was ready. It was a pretty terrible 9 months.

Not a guarantee of poordom. Some guys just like doing things themselves. I can afford lawn care. I just rather do it myself, cause I’m not lazy or old.

I hate moving more than anything in the world. However this next move will be our first with kids so we are hiring movers. No more of this pickup truck/trailer/u-haul bullshite and begging for manual labor from friends and family. I'm done.

It’s terrible, I’ve never moved with kids and will be doing that soon. Imagine that adds even more wonderful layers to the experience

ETA: have hired movers every time I’ve moved since college but it still sucks.

When I was in college, moving was fun and exciting.

Now it is just a chore.

Moving has been shown to be up there with a death in the family as a major stressor in one's life.

We are moving the furniture out of my wife's grandmother's place this weekend, not looking forward to it.

My wife (no pics) just accepted a job in Memphis (working days on then 4 off). Thankfully her apartment will not be ready until October so we'll have some relief from the heat.

It's a 3rd floor apartment so the idea of hiring movers at least for the move-in part is looking like a certainty.

Become a minimalist. You don’t need most of the stuff you buy and keep.

I just make it high cardio exercise and time it. Makes it go by a lot quicker.

I had to move heavy furniture when I was young and poor but never again. What’s the point of working your arse off to have a good career if you still have to break your back moving furniture in your free time.
