About 4500 people have summited Everest and about 300 have died trying. It is too risky to attempt bringing the bodies down at high altitude, so many of them remain.

No matter how you sugarcoat it, climbing/attempting Everest is an incredibly selfish act.
Just ask the families of the 200+ corpsecicles still rotting on that motherfricker.

Look a few post above yours.
Their sponsors provided them with satellite phones.

I think I read that this has been the deadly season ever. Something like 10 people have died this season already. But I believe the season is almost over.
I didn't realize it was near $11,000 to get a permit to climb. That's nuts

Can guarantee it isn't Sprint. Can't even get service around some hills in Tunica with them

No joke. These dudes can send snaps from Everest, but I can't get tigerdroppings to pull up at the stoplight by my house.

Don't know if rotting is the right word. The temp keeps them pretty intact. maybe freezerburn but not rotting

Well...that is included in the $75k price to get on with an expedition team who will guide you during the climb.

I am obsessed with all things Mt. Everest. Don't know why. I hate the cold and I'm scared of heights - but I would climb Mt Everest in a heartbeat if I knew for sure I wouldn't die.
Saw a video of people crossing the Khumbu Icefalls on those ladders and it made me dizzy.

They're actually preserved very well due to being frozen and all.

I'm actually working my way toward Pikes Peak then hopefully Everest. I've done Driskill Mountain twice in the last year and a half with little to no issues.
