I went to eat with my brother last night at a modern yet rustic restaurant in wine country where you sit really close to the people next to you. There was a date going on next to us..a fairly cute girl and a guy with glasses who seemed like he was probably a San Francisco tech guy or something.

It seemed like she was into him at first but the conversations they were having began to get rather distracting. He was talking about Xbox games, raving loudly about Star Wars, then the nail in the coffin was when he was ranting about how the 99% of rape cases are just women who regret having sex with a guy and press charges. "well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion," was her response. I was trying so hard not to laugh.

Ever witness a bad date like this?

Wow.

That guy doesn't get laid very often (unless he's rich).

Watched what looked like a break up going down at the Chimes. Girl was tearing the whole time. Consolation hug. Looked sad and helpless.

I caught an awkward date as it was ending a couple nights ago. I was walking home from the grocery store when a guy and a girl walk out of a restaurant in front of me. The ended up going the same direction as me so I could hear their conversation.

The dude kept saying "Come on, let me give you a ride home," and the girl would be like, "That's okay, I only live like 2 blocks from here."

Then the guy goes "Anything can happen in two blocks. You don't wanna get raped in an alley, do you?! Hahaha! I mean, I'm just kidding..." The girl was clearly done, she gave the fakest laugh I've ever heard. I was cringing hard at that point.

In the dude's last attempt at giving her a ride home, he goes "Seriously, let me give you a ride. I'll even let you work the aux hookup!" She says nothing.

He eventually gets the point. The girl doesn't even stop to give him a sympathy hug. As they part ways, the girl immediately calls her friend and I hear her go, "That was the most awkward fricking date ever. Oh my god."

This all happened over the course of a block. Made me feel better about myself.

I once worked for a firm in New Orleans which had a rather attractive older principal/partner. She was married to a well known person in the community. In any event, I was seeing this girl who lived in Lafayette. One Friday I took off work a little early and went out to Lafayette to spend the weekend with her. That night, we went to a restaurant. When I walked in, I saw the woman "snuggling up" and being rather "hands on" with a much younger dude. I thought about leaving, but before I could really do anything the waitress came over and led us to the table right next to hers. When she saw me, her face got beet red. She immediately pulled away from the guy and just sat stoically the rest of the meal.

After that, she was always extremely nice to me although that incident was never mentioned.

I've been a second party to a double date where the guy was the odd man out in the scenario. My wife, me and our friend who wanted some buffer. At Eddie V's in Dallas and the meal was increasing in value each time the waiter came by to ask if we needed more drinks, wine, dessert etc etc...

Guy demands the night is on him.

CC declined.

I had to settle with a promise of reimbursement. Humiliation expression could not be wiped off with any amount of soap.

When I was in college my buddies and I went to Mullet Toss. We were stuck in traffic on the beach and people were everywhere. A guy was walking with his face bloody. Blood was all over him, and he was crying like a toddler.

Right behind him was his girlfriend and she was clearly embarrassed by him crying.

I imagine she got train railed that night by some random BBCs.
