tips of the wings and tail have to be white also to be considered a bald eagle
This is not even true
Google up “bald eagle” and look at pictures (I still cannot post pics on this place)

Ah, okay. I haven't played there in a looooong time. We should meet up for a round!
Man I didn't realize this until I googled after posting the pic. Not quite as rare in Oklahoma as I thought, but still. Super cool.

All the time. They were harvesting cane in a field next to my office recently. They had three of them perched on our power poles waiting for rabbits.

There is a family of them I see around here. I always double take on whether they are a big osprey and sometimes they are.

They call the ones down here southern bald eagles. Seems they breed earlier than the ones up north. Found a nest on Hwy 392 right before you get to La 191 (scenic hwy on the east side of TB.). One flew right in front of our truck with a limb in its talon. Flew up to a pine tree where the nest was. Came back with the binos and you could see the two eaglets heads sticking up above the rim of the huge nest.

I’ve seen several in Louisiana from a good distance. I saw one in the mountains fly right over us with a trout it just grabbed from a lake. It flew to a nearby tree and ate the trout. We were able to watch that from about 30-40 yards. Magnificent bird.

One of the coolest thing I have ever seen was when I lived in Iowa and I would see Bald Eagle on the river on ice floats to hunt fish. The would come down from further north to get close to the Mississippi River during the winter. I would anywhere from 2 to 15 bald eagle at a time.

Used to be a nesting pair right off the Morganza spillway. Nest was visible from the highway. Haven’t seen them in a while though .

I’ve always been a fan of the bald eagle and have come across a few of them in the wild. It’s important to remember that bald or not, what truly matters is if they’re clean.

They patrol the intake structures of the plants on the river regularly looking for easy kills of fish caught in the current. Watching them hunt is an awesome sight. They truly are apex predators.
You understand why they named the F-22 the Raptor. There was a story released a few years ago about F-22s intercepting Iranian F-4s that were messing with Drones over the Persian Gulf. The F-22s came up behind them and just appeared off their wings and scared the shite out of them.

Cite where the wings need to have a white tip? Cornell and Sibley’s says you are wrong takes 5 years to dev adult plummage only the head and tail are white as full adults juveniles can have variations of white dispersed throughout feathers.

I’d say on average I see 200 or so a year. They are everywhere at our camp on Belle River

Seen them in Alaska many times.
You want a freedom boner sit on a mirror top lake and watch a Bald Eagle do its thing as it hunts for fish.

They hand out at Reelfoot Lake during duck season and swipe ducks if they can beat the dog to them.
