Ever left a motel/hotel for security/sanitation issues?

Well I have for the first time tonight. Left this afternoon from the Tampa area, visiting a friend of mine in NOLA for a few days.
Decided I would stop somewhere to get a few hours of sleep. Stupidly decided to go on Hotwire and there was a hot deal on there for $45 plus tax. Hotwire said I would get 1 of 2 hotels listed which were both decent. Of course when I actually book it I get stuck at Extended Stay America in Pensacola.
Decide to give it a shot. I get there and there’s some shady characters but it looks okay. Get to my room, no trash can, lamp on the floor and a pitiful looking bed. TV is incredibly grainy. I hear constant noise out in the hallway. I decide to take my luggage back out.
As I go out one guy is smoking Heroin right near the door. I also noticed freaking dry blood on the ground. Pretty sure violence and even murders have occurred here, lol.
I don’t even go back to the desk to check out as the check in lady is talking to what is probably her thug boyfriend, lol.
Ironically I call Hotwire and they are going to refund me. Of course now it’s 1 a.m. and I’m at a Waffle House in Mobile.
I was at the motel for 45 minutes. Anyone else here ever just flat out left a motel/hotel immediately for safety and/or sanitation reasons?

And in case anyone is wondering, please never stay at the Extended Stay America Pensacola I-10. Don’t make the same mistake I did unless you want to potentially see a Cops episode filmed, lol.

Stayed at the Comfort Inn in Jackson, Mississippi once. Woke up every hour to look at the window and make sure my wheels were still on the car. Pretty sure murders occurred there regularly.

Yep at first I was going to try to stay but I doubt I would’ve gotten much sleep. Same thing, was probably going to wake up every hour to make sure my car was still there and in one piece. Once I started feeling a few pricks though and then saw the blood on the ground in front of the lobby I said screw it. I just assume sleep in my car at this point.
Besides all that there were a significant amount of unsupervised minors in the lobby when I arrived.

Those same heroin addicts are looking for a place to stay for $45/night. That should be your first sign man.

It’ll be safer sleeping in your car on the side of I-10

Yes, got into the room at 1am, was tired as frick from 15 hours of driving and OL driving me nuts, pulled back covers to sleep, and there was a blood soaked sheet with tampon also under the comforter and staining the bed. It smelled so bad to boot.
Went down, told them we were leaving, and would be calling credit card company for fraud if they tried to charge us. And this place was big name hotel, and $150 a night, so no roach motel.

There are no decent $45 hotels in the USA and have not been for a long time.

I try to stay within the Hilton family but on 1 occasion ended up at one of the Extended Stay America properties in Nashville. After getting in the bed and reading on my phone for a few minutes, I went to lay it on the nightstand and a roach was on my bottle of water and 2 were next to it. Bolted out the door and didn’t even bother asking for the $65 back.

Extended Stay America in Pensacola.
I just spent a very entertaining 20 mins reading reviews of this place. You should get in touch with some of the other people that have stayed there and start a support group for survivors. This place sounds awful.

Lesson learned never take the 45 dollar blind deal.
My suggestion get a rewards account with a major hotel like say Hilton and then stay at the Econo version if you need a night

Once in Ohio. Room was old and dirty and there were train tracks and a crossing right next to the hotel.
Left at 2am and went to a chain hotel.
I also booked a motel called Alamo in baton rouge when evacuating. I left after an hour or so and decided to stay in Laffayette.

Econo Lodge in Kansas City. Pretty sure there was still some tape leftover on the carpet where they outlined the murder victim.

You can tell the hotel managers have left some fake reviews for themselves to improve their ranking

Yes, some place in Lubbock, moldy as it could be. Front Desk understood and refunded, was very apologetic

Dont stay in exterior entry hotels baw. Had a few people robbed when criminals use dummy cards to enter their room.
