Yes. Needed a room in new york city for “reasons”. Took a train to newark airport and started calling hotels asking for rooms by baggage claim. A daysinn by the airport is all i ould find. 229 a night. Get there. Check in. Walk past hookers in parking lot. The bathroom tile was broken on the floor. Left after an hour in the room......

Similar situation where I stayed in the Ambassador Inn (Lafayette) because it was cheap and convenient. I had a doctor's appointment further south on Ambassador Caffery Parkway in Lafayette.
The room was nice, comfortable, and clean, and the people working there were nice. I thought I'd found a really good deal when I checked in around 3 pm.
When I went down to go grab some dinner, it looked like a different place. There was a nice looking woman sitting in the lobby as I walked out. When I got outside an even better looking blonde lady introduced herself, claimed she was French, and asked me if I knew of any fun places to go. She walked to my car with me, and said she'd be there through the weekend. As I started my car, I noticed a couple of semis were parked for the night just past the great parking spot I'd found earlier.
It was dark when I got back, and I had to park further away from the entrance to the building between two semis. I parked there because there was better light there than anywhere else. I was still worried about my car though.
The blonde was still outside. She was talking to some guy in a car. The other lady was coming off the elevator in the lobby when I went up.
I never saw either again. I went to bed early because I had an early appointment I never stayed there again because I was worried about my car. I thought about checking on my car because I imagine local guys know about the hookers working out of the hotel drive through the parking lot all night.
In the mid-80's I stayed in a cheap motel room in Longview for a night. I left the lights on all night because I was scared I might wake up with roaches crawling on me during the night. There was a country bar across the street. I saw a few couples walk over from it while I was there.
