Those that have moved away from the town that you grew up in, do you ever have the desire to move back? If so, where'd you grow up and what are the reasons? Family? Want to raise a family in the same schools and neighborhoods you were raised in? Simplicity and comfort?
What's keeping you? Job?

Too many fricked situations have forced me to go back home for short intervals. So.....no.

I moved back home 10 years ago and don’t regret it.

No. My home town is a racial nightmare. I have moved on from there and I will move on from where I am in a few years.

No, I'm not scared of change or getting out of my comfort zone. Plus, I'm from Louisiana and have zero desire to live in that shithole.

Hard pass....Applebee’s is the finest dining establishment in town

My home town is Montgomery, AL. It's gotten a lot better since I left in terms of number of things to do, but nothing would ever make me desire to go back. Even my family is moving on to bigger and better things.
The town doesn't even have that bad of leadership, it's just demographics driving it right into the ground and crime rates that are going up and spreading to wider swaths of land. Once nice areas are just descending before everyone's eyes and nobody really has a good answer for it.
So no, I'm content with where I am now.

I did after 10 yrs gone. Some good, some bad.
Where: Small town <5000
Reasons: Same schools, family, veterans grant (biggest reason).
We usually keep to ourselves (wife & 2 kids), but small town drama is ridiculous since I've been gone.

Absolutely not. My hometown can go frick itself. There's nowhere to work, no safe place to live, and the people are ridiculously small-town and feel entitled. I have no desire to move back there and I hate that my parents still live there. Wish they'd move closer to me, especially now that they're getting older.

Hell no.
Maybe back to the state, but never back to my town.

My wife and I probably will. Her parents are older (70s) and have a 500+ acre farm they want to keep in the family (our son is the only grandchild they will ever have, so it will end up being his).

I get the desire a lot. Better schools for when I do finally have kids, non-existent culcha/crime. The only reason I haven't is because of the winters.

I'll switch with you. I'll take Charleston, you can have Prairieville.

I got gentrified out of my parents hoods. All the doctors and shite moved in, sales people can’t cut it any more.

I love to go visit but could never move back. Bad job market that fluctuates too much with the awl field and lack of entertainment options.
Great place to grow up, though.

I moved back to my hometown and really enjoy it. Both of our families are pretty tight-knit so its nice to have them close by. I like the hometown vibe and the city is making some progress. Plus its cheap as hell to live here.
