Ever been part of a sports team (h.s. and above) that was completely drubbed in a game?

What was your experience?
When I was a sophomore in h.s. (small Texas Class B school), we had to play Celina, which ended up being the Class B state champs (I believe).
Celina had 50 or so players, we had 21 and our 4 biggest players were "injured" in the first quarter. Though I weighed a whopping 135 pounds, I was moved from a defensive back to nose guard because we were shorthanded. Celina's second or third string center, who had at least 50 pounds on me, would smear me to the ground on every play. He would very politely help me up so I'd be ready for the next massacre.
Celina won, 84-0 I believe (it was low 80's to zero). They worked hard not to run up the score. For example, they did field goals on third down. It could have been 100+ to nothing. Our offensive play consisted of the QB running around trying not to get creamed and then passing to whatever idiot (sometimes me) who was going to get smeared if the pass was caught.

I played AAU basketball on a mostly white team. We got the shite kicked out of us a lot.

I played basketball for a small Class B school and while we were good for a small Class B school, we would occasionally end up playing much larger schools in tournaments.
We played Peabody one time and they pulled the starters after 5 minutes, played their JV the whole game and we had a running clock the entire 2nd half.
They still beat us by like 50

Yes, whipped several times.
Experience: it sucked

Played against a guy that was drafted out of HS by the Phillies. I was just happy to be in the same field.

I went to a really small private school through the 10th grade. We had moved into a new league my last 2 years and played some larger private schools in Mississippi in sports.
My freshman year I made varsity football, and we played a much bigger school with a bunch of cornfed dudes on it. I played tight end and was assigned to try to block some dude with a beard. We got our asses whipped like 43-7 or something like that

Yes, Junior year of HS when we played against the Arkansas Trio from Warren area in Basketball. They went to play for the Razorbacks in football and some stints in the NFL.

Chris Grags
Greg Childs <-- legit throwing down some of the craziest dunks I ever saw in person
Let me put it like this
They were up 60+ points at halftime and by then, our student section was cheering them on as they were throwing down crazy dunks

I am your huckleberry on this subject matter. In the mid 80s I started as a freshman at a Catholic school on single A basketball team. We went 3-23. The highlight of our games was rock paper scissors to choose who would be the dickhead to undercut a kid trying to dunk on us for the 5-6th time.

Back in 1916 I was playing football at Cumberland. Our game against Ga Tech was rough!

I ran for a pretty good high school cross country team. One year we made the cut-off for an invitational level race in Houston. We learned what fast really was. They had dudes flying past us like we were standing still. I think we placed dead last as a team

My freshman year of high school soccer was the first year of the program
We were winless
Lost one game 14-0, which is hard to do in soccer

Dude was one of the freakiest athletes I've seen play for Arkansas before his knee injury.

I wrestled 172 in HS and weighed 160 dripping wet. I was the only one on the team, probably the conference, actively bulking mid season

As a 2A high school we met John Curtis in the second round of the football playoffs.
Only time in my life I wanted a game to end early. I was playing center and DT at 6’ 200lbs

My freshman year of high school I played on my high school's girl's soccer team and it was the first year we had a girl's team. None of us had played any serious soccer before, were playing because the basketball coach told us we had to either play a sport or do conditioning, and we got put in a region with the last three state champions.
One of those schools beat us 15-0 that year (went on to win their 8th state championship that year too). On the upside, four years later we beat them for an indoor soccer championship.

8th grade basketball team. Our team consisted of 6 white guys and 2 black guys. One was literally about 4'-8" and the other guy probably should have been in special classes. We went to a local tournament and 1st game was against the eventual tourney winner who had 2 guys who went on to play pro basketball midway thru college. We did not score a point in the 1st half and only scored 8 total for the game. They scored in the 60's and eventually stopped shooting at about the end of the 3rd quarter.

High School football. Lost to Edna Carr 56-3.
game was nowhere near as close as that score would lead you to believe.

I went to a 5A school that was quite competitive in everything, so very rare.
But, we threw a bum against our rival my junior year. My senior year, the football game was on ESPNU, so at the time, beating them was all we cared about.
They run ruled us 18-2. In my 4 years, the game was never more than a run or two.
Coach keeps us at the field after the game, runs us while parents are sitting in the stands for an hour after the game. It was a shite show.
3 months later we play them in the regional final to go to state.
Beat them 8-7.
I always wondered if our coach did it on purpose.
