half bottles of booze?
Sure.

a grab bag of different beers?
Also, sure. Both of these items can be tossed into an ice chest and won't even necessarily be noticed.

A dip you opened the day before? A bag of buns with a couple already eaten?
This is kinda different than the first two. I sometimes bring leftover items to my parents' house on a Sunday if I hosted an LSU party or something the night before and made massive batches of things that didn't need to be replenished, but I would never bring a container of dip or something that people have scooped chips into and that sat out at room temp all night long.
I don't think I'd bring already eaten buns either. Are you even doing anything that calls for buns?
It isn't so much that I'd be grossed out by it -- I just use cabin type vacations as an excuse to cook my arse off and wouldn't want to waste people's stomach room on someone's already dipped-in onion dip

Are you going up with a bunch of guys or some high maintenance folk who would give a shite about something so small?
This - dudes probably won't give a shite unless they're soyboy germaphobes. I probably wouldn't do it in mixed company though.

just your standard cabin on your standard Wisconsin lake.
Skip bringing whatever beer you have on hand and pick up a bunch of New Glarus on the way up.

Booze: Yea
Loose Beer Yes
Opened dip? No.
Buns: soft yes, but bringing like 3 buns to a party is weird.

Smart man. I actually have some raspberry tart and spotted cow in the fridge right now, leftover from the camping trip up there 2 weeks ago.

false, it's never too hot for gumbo
You're probably fat as shite so you don't like the lake or being outside, but the last thing normal people want to eat after being outside all day is gumbo.
Its fine for you though because you don't leave the AC or your coach for more than 5 minutes at a time

He was too busy calling other folks out on idiocy to notice that "Chitown" guy going to Wisconsin for a weekend was going to be a cross-country trip.
How cool do the nights get up there this time of year?

It's pretty much impossible to venture north of the Cheese Curtain and not come home with Spotted Cow and curds

This weekend is looking about as good as weather can get.

I don't think what you said is a problem. Especially the beer and liquor. If you brought a half eaten bag of stale chips or the buns are starting to get moldy then that would be a little gross, but otherwise I wouldn't care.

Actually, no, fatass is now normal so I'm not normal.
Mingo regrets the error

If you have to ask, then you already know the answer.

But virtually everyone said that the booze was ok.

The beer is definitely fine. Wine, no, liquor, maybe. Opened food is disgusting and poor people shite

liquor, maybe
So a bottle that comes to a party fresh and immediately has someone open and pour a drink is somehow fundamentally different than a bottle that I poured a drink from the night before?

Bringing a nice bottle of something with a drink or two out of it, probably fine. Bringing a bottle of Jim Beam that has like a quarter left, I wouldn't do it. Why I said maybe.

If you don't finish a package of something in one sitting you just throw the rest away? And you're not a fat arse? I'm calling bullshite.

Mungo is just pissed because he never gets invited anywhere to even bring a dish
