etiquette for turning around in strangers driveway?

I've turned around in plenty of driveways over the years, but never pulled up to the house to do so and usually if I see someone there, I don't do it at all and go to the next turnaround.
Weird situation yesterday evening. Outside on front porch with family. Truck pulls into our driveway, then pulls all the way up our driveway (another 25 feet or so) while we are staring at him, waits about 10 seconds, then proceeds to back all the way out to turn around. Just found it odd...
Obviously kinda freaked my wife and daughter out.

I tend to drive past the driveway, back up into the driveway, then pull forward.

I think a good spot to underscore weird doesn’t have to equal worry.
I’d chalk it as 99% chance he was lost, paused for a second to text or such once off the street and then kept trucking either once done or when he embarrassingly noticed people looking
Throw the truck in your mental catalogue in case of the 1% but to freak out is not the appropriate reaction - that’s boredom manifesting inappropriately

Hilarious to me that as a society we have no problem with people walking up to our homes, ringing the doorbell and finding out if we are “home” gaining knowledge on our whereabouts.
But god-forbid someone turn around in our driveways with no ill intentions and we’re ready to commit crimes.

Considering someone a couple neighborhoods over pulled a shot gun on a woman pulling all of the way up his driveway (she went to the wrong house), I generally just use the end of the driveway to turn around.
Could've been someone doing a food or package delivery and got the wrong address. GPS isn't always accurate.

To put them at ease, especially if it is dark, I pull up kinda close, honk the horn until they appear, I yell out the window, "just turning around, didn't want to concern you"...

What's worse is the assholes who park directly across the street from your driveway when there is plenty of room to pull up before or after that spot. Yard guys and construction workers for neighboring homes do it all the time. It can be a real pain when backing a trailer into your own driveway, or backing out into the street.

The guy across the street runs a small business out of his house and has one employee.. The employee uses my driveway to turn around and goes up the street to leave... She won't do it if I am outside.. The sneaky little shite.. But I have come home in the middle of the day and there is a car parked in my driveway and I had to go over there and get them to move.. For some reason his clients won't park in his long arse driveway.. Maybe he has told them not to.. He is a POS liberal and thinks nothing applies to him....
