resistance heating uses hella electricity. People are also trying to bring the temp difference from 25 to 70 vs in summer trying to bring temp down from 95 to 70.

This little guy will heat a decent sized room for 12 hours on two 1 lb propane bottles.

Heating takes a lot more electricity than cooling. Also, adding Christmas lights, trees, heat lamps, space heaters etc... Either way, Entergy is Asshoe.

TVA called today "unprecedented".

I'll leave this here without commentary:

Today's been unprecedented, with historic cold temperatures affecting the entire country and driving power demand to record levels in the region.

Get through this night and the load should ease up some, at least in Louisiana.

Just wait until you can sell the electricity in your Tesla back during times like this for 100x what you paid to charge it. We’re not far from that being a reality.

Well if we can’t depend on it, why are you saying we need it?

Don't forget the pool pumps. All running on freeze protect.

This cold is not unusual. What is the deal with Entergy. Why can't they kept the freaking power on?

Oh is this a “hundred year freeze”?!?!?

They always have some bullshite excuse. Sorry this isn’t an ice storm. It’s 25 degrees for 6-8 hours. Entergy is incompetent.

Question: every time the lights go off our neighbors generators come on.

This on/off every 10/15 minutes since 530 this am can’t be good for them, right??

Power went out in Covington (Cleco -old landing area) about 15 minutes ago.

Thankful for the gas fireplace.

I got the “text” from Entergy at 7:00…power went off at 9:30.

I haven’t even turned on my heater this winter.
