So does this mean I can't charge my EV with a dead battery because I had to make a 50 mile trip in freezing temps?

Entergy gas here. And their pressure is low. Gas stove flame is orangish when normally blue.

Meanwhile my plant has all its units on idle, yet we are running compressors, boilers, exhausters, and tons of other non essential equipment right now. Just to run one of our exhauster fans cost over 1/2million a year in electricity.

I have Demco at home though so I could give a frick. frick entergy!!!!

Just got the text also.

You cannot tell me that the grid is sucking more juice now than it does in peak summer. Nobody has natural gas air conditioning.

Got the same text from TVA here in North Alabama. My thought was to shut down all the non-essential businesses before you cut power to my damn house or maw maw’s house. Frick all that. You can’t handle 1-2 days of bad weather, especially from a nuclear plant.

Just wait till everyone has EVs in a “smart grid” . You will be asked to conserve energy and avoid traveling (they will even “assist” you by disabling your connected vehicle remotely), unless your social score is trending within accepted groupthink parameters

Nah, just plug the EV in and power the house for several days. That is one of the selling points, no?

Haha, thanks Entergy. We andjusted our lives all year so we can afford Christmas. Now we have to make the most of it in the dark. Straight out of a Dr. Seuss book.

Well with these gusting north winds, wind power would be kicking as right now!

But just right now. Not in the dead of August. Or most of the rest of the year. Well except during hurricanes.
