I mean, it sucks for those people... but the performers are human beings and shite happens.

I would imagine it’s difficult to put an ear piece in if you have an infection. Not to mention the noise from performing. Give the guy a break. I’d rather an artist reschedule than perform a half arse shortened concert.

Or maybe try and cancel sometime before the show

Once I had tickets to see Aerosmith, and the show was cancelled the day of due to illness. This was before social media so we found out when we drove up to the gate of the amphitheater. My guess was Steven Tyler had diharrea.

I was part of the local crew for that show. We spent about 5 hours setting up the stage, then had to turn around and tear it back down. Really sucked.

They were touring their album Honkin' on Bobo.

The Amway Center? Did they beat out Ronco for the naming rights?

Ronco went kaput earlier this year.

Everyone set and forgot it...

Went to one of his shows a few years ago and was really impressed how that old fricker played for like 2.5 hours straight with no break. He put on a great show

Saw him in Vegas a couple years ago. Twice during the show he bent down and had to take a moment - people from his crew ran in from behind stage to tend to him. Thought I was going to witness the death of Elton John. But he kept on ticking and cranked out hit after hit for well over 2 hours.

Not really sure why this is news TBH, I'm sure it happens pretty much daily with lesser acts

A regular group couldn't do this, but Elton don't give a frick.
I really admire people like Dave Grohl and James Hetfield who get horribly injured on tour and continue on.

ETA- I say James because of the time he blew up on stage.

Though in 2000 Metallica played in Dallas with Korn, Kid Rock, Disturbed and System of a Down. Right before Metallica came out they annouced James lost his voice. We were told to come back in two months for another concert in Dallas for us. Problem is, it was Dallas. The concert continued though, with Kid Rock, Jonathan Davis filling in as lead singers of Metallica. Still not the Metallica concert I rode in the back seat of a Mustang to attend. (worst road trip ever, wtf is a dry county?)

Like Sir Elton John gives two fricks about Florida white trash and how much you spent on the Marriott and two jack and Cokes.

When you get to a certain level, the show doesn’t have to go on.

I've made some nice money off Elton John this year. I bought as many tickets as possible the day they opened to the public.

I'm sure Elton has performed that way, too, but he wasn't "shitfaced" from drinking or drugs, if you catch my drift.

Hey, give him a break, he's got ear-aids.
(didn't check to see if someone already posted that obvious one liner, sorry about the laziness)

He didn’t own the team. Are you willfully this retarded?

Guy owns company and team. Guy uses the arena the team plays in to promote company.

Honestly, it would likely be the concert of a lifetime. He's pretty fricking great.

I was at the BR Show a few years ago. Well worth it. Who gives a shite if he’s English?

In a kind of related story, I had a trip to London lined up to see one of Adele’s final four shows at Wembley stadium, but decided that I didn’t have the money, so I didn’t pull the trigger on it.

She cancelled the last two shows due to vocal strain. I would have been at one of those two shows.
