i'd love to see a thunderdome w/ a blue-haired twitter 'engineer' facing off against an engineer from tesla or spacex.

spacex engineer: i wrote code that allowed the first rocket to return to Earth and land on its feet in the history of mankind.

tesla engineer: i wrote code that allowed a car to drive by itself for the first time in the history of mankind

twitter engineer: i wrote code to suppress conservative ideas and rewrite the history of mankind

I'm not sure Musk even knows what his endgame is at this point.

I don’t know much about any of this but it seems to me that Elon is either
A) a mad genius

or

B)destroying the company because he’s overreacting to his frick up of buying a shitty overvalued company.

Dude's gonna figure out how to run Twitter with a couple of hundred engineers, and it will make the rest of Big Tech companies go, "Never thought that was possible", isn't he?

I think it is C

Getting rid of the free loader coat rider hippies who can only do limited work and don’t provide much value.

Cut the fat and keep the actual talented people seems like a good strategy to me.

Edit: no way a platform like Twitter should have some massive staff to run it effectively.

Based on his track record I would say it is a pretty safe bet he knows what he is doing. EXACTLY what he is doing.

2pm is usually Twitter employee nap and story-time hour.

Probably won’t be too many attendees.

The man has created countless industries, has rockets landing back on earth, is sending astronauts to space, has self driving cars and you think he doesn't have a plan??

Twitter was more bloated than the federal government.

Elon knows exactly what he's doing.

He wants to get a visual of them.

Purple hair, underdressed or sloppy looking, don't know if its a he or she, appears entitled to have the job.....you are gone.

Appropriate dress, personable, present detailed accomplishments, wants to keep their job.....please sit down and tell me more.

At this point I wouldn't quit. I'd just go along for the ride to see what happens.

Imagine every government employee getting this type of notice. Absolute panic.

That's how you drain the swamp. Install "doers" as appointed agency heads and make them send out emails stating: "show me everything you worked on in the past year and how it helped this agency and the citizens".

I can't imagine that many coders are required to maintain Twitter. I can imagine a large number being necessary to continuously monitor, supress, and steer speech and trends. Additionally, constant tweaking of algorithms would require a large number of coders and psychologists.

The code to post and generate feeds is the same whether it's for 10 users or 500,000,000 users.

Never understood why a platform like Twitter needs thousands of employees. What exactly are they doing? It's an established system and shouldn't take so much work. Unless they're undergoing a complete change, I don't think it would take that many engineers to just keep the lights on. I think it was bloated beyond belief and Musk is going to make it more efficient by getting rid of all the fat.
