if Elon has his way we'll get rid of F-35s and F-350's and be all electric.

drones and electric trucks cant haul a payload that a jet or a diesel truck can tho

Drone war is crazy and will be interesting to watch for the next 20 years. I'm honestly surprised we haven't seen more terrorist attacks using them here in the states. Seems like any time there's a large crowd of 100 people or more that they could be easy targets.

Imagine if someone loaded up twenty drones, Ukraine-style, and sent into a football stadium on a Saturday...

Those things aren’t strong enough to carry large payload weaponry or deliver it on target fast enough, yet.

These will be full sized aircraft. Again, we already have prototypes.

I get it, but two things: Range and payload delivery.

That's one of the things they fear during the Macy's parade.

How would you fight that, targeted EMP?

That would have to be the strategy I think. Or shotguns as a backup.

The logical and most terrifying next step is to make the drones autonomous.

Will need to defend using 10 gauge shotguns.

For that many, I think a punt gun would be a better option. Many, many punt guns.

A single F35 could jam those drone’s comms from a hundred miles away. Drones serve a purpose, but aren’t the ultimate super weapon they may seem to be.

That is actually on the side of disturbing….especially if those things are hunting you

I saw a video of one hunting Russian soldiers and the soldiers hid underneath a bunch of debris. The drone had thermal sensors and could “see through” the cover and blasted them anyway.

I saw another one where a guy hid in a cave, so the drone just went into the cave and killed him.

The future is terrifying. We’re always seeking new ways to kill people.

I think it’s more terrifying on a domestic scale. War might not change but 100 drones launched at a sold out college football game could do some serious physical and psychological damage.

I imagine one of the limitations of those drone swarms would be the altitude they can reach?

Yup, they are missing the power and wing space to get as high, as fast, and as far as larger air systems.

Not to mention that physics will always prevent smaller lighter objects with less mass from having the same capabilities.

If one was so inclined, how would one construct an EMP?

The drone warfare Reddit page is terrifying. The little fricking drones buzz people like annoying mosquitoes until they get close enough to detonate.
