I’m thinking you’re making an assumption that I lead off a conversation or introduction with this, which is false, I don’t. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I will assume a person will gender me correctly based on my appearance and how I carry myself. If I get misgendered, which happens pretty darned infrequently, then I say “she/her” please. And I’m polite about it. If a person slips up and says the wrong pronoun, I don’t get upset, I know they’re trying and it’s very much appreciated. I think y’all are under the assumption that the majority of us act like “The GameStop Ma’am!” when it happens, which is far from true. Social media exposes a lot of the outliers. But I would agree with Northshorebamaman that there’s some folks in our community that really don’t represent us in the best light at times.

But we don't have to respect that. You look like a man, I'll refer to you as him, you look like a woman, I'll refer to you as her. I'm not playing make believe with you to satisfy your mental issues. I think you should be free to play dressup how you want, but I'm not required to care or respect it.

That’s absolutely your right GeauxMedic

if the person has been nothing but nice and respectful to you, I have no idea why you wouldn't return the respect
otherwise you are just being a dick for the sake of it

Who knew that TD was so passionate about Ellen Page? 18 pages about Ellen and still going.

That's a dick move. Even if you don't like transgenders, you're going to end up calling an unfortunate looking cis woman "sir" when she already has a complex about her appearance.

This type of misunderstanding happens all the time. There's a difference between a biological female who has biological manly features correcting me that she is in fact, a she, than a man in a dress telling me he is a she.

Reminds me, I need to go watch the Page/Mara lesbian scene again.

Just my experience and .02. It varies greatly, but I figured some insight wouldn’t hurt.

Do we go back and rebill her movies made as Ellen to Elliot?
I know Hollywood will be jamming "his" new movies down our throats. If you choose not to watch you are a bigot.

Yup. I liked her in Hard Candy but after that not as much.

I really liked Juno. I thought it had an uplifting message that affirmed life and the family, and at the time it stood out.
I really wonder if Ellen Page has been trying to overcompensate since Juno was made, maybe out of some semi-conscious need to ingratiate herself with the people who are seen as cool or avant-garde in the incestuous little world of filmmaking.

She saw how much attention she got from standing up for Juicy so she's trying to get some for herself.

I’d love to see Diablo Cody write another screenplay that gets the green light. I think Juno’s dialogue hasn’t necessarily stood the test of time, but you’re absolutely right that the movie has a lot of heart and was cast very well.
In reference to Page trying too hard. When I saw the movie back in the late 00’s for the first time, I felt that Page fell somewhere in the LGBTQ spectrum when I watched it. It wasn’t gaydar, or maybe it was, I dunno.

does that mean that He is straight now?

Today after commenting on thread several times past couple of days I am wondering if it’s just a coincidence either because of tracking my browsing here or because of Ellen in general that Hulu is bombarding me now with a Ritz commercial that reminds me of that Truvada commercial (but here its considered spending time with family while ignoring multiple texts from his actual mother saying miss you, happy holidays, & asking to talk) but gets even worse when guy starts putting on lipstick like he is a serial killer.
