Damn, so he went into a single classroom and just started shooting? Mother fricker, those poor kids were sitting ducks.

It has to have been one or two classrooms. All the kids were 10/11 and in the same grade. Two teachers were killed.

I have such a hard time wrapping my head around how and why someone would do something like this. What leads someone to do such a thing? I know these people are mentally ill, but how does someone reach the decision to shoot up a bunch of children or innocent people? Just doesn't make sense.

According to classmates he was bullied quite a bit and made fun of for his families financial situation.

Seems to be a common trend as well, all these shooters definitely look like they were bullied.

Even if the college kids didn’t know their drugs were laced with fentanyl- at least they were choosing to do the drugs.

The kids shot yesterday were just waiting to go home so they could play roblox with their friends

from radio in San Antonio this morning. The speculation(again speculation) was that he was going to go to the high school. But the crash ended that. I don't think he had any connection to the elementary. Shot his grandma at home, mom didn't work there, I am not even sure he went there.
I think the hs is just guess off of his post and his guns, etc.

so what would compel him to shoot up a bunch of random innocent children, instead of taking his anger/revenge out on the people who bullied him? Just angry at the world I guess?

I really think he was headed to the HS after shooting his grandmother. By crashing his car he wasn't able to get there so he went to the elementary.

One poster said this:
quote:

Enters the school where he shoots his mother (who was a teacher at the school)

Then another said this:
quote:

Mom was a deadbeat druggie who lost custody so he lived with his grandma.

Which was it?

not that it actually makes it any worse if he killed 19 going from classroom to classroom...but good God slaughtering what seems like just one classroom of kids had to be just a horrific scene.

I think the ditch he “crashed” in borders the elementary school. Dunno if that was intentional or not. As I understand based on preliminary info he was not being chased by the cops at the time.

I blame Ronald Reagan for dismantling the institutional mental hospitals and the states for giving these mis wired people rights that make it impossible to commit these people to an mental institution.

This is what needs to be addressed. Lock these crazy people up for the good of society.

Yep. I posted the same in my post:

quote:

It's gotten to this point. You have security entrances at airports, courthouses, governmental buildings...sadly, we've reached this point.

We've shipped off trillions of dollars to other countries for foreign aid; it's time to step it up and protect our own. There is no excuse.

Gun control isn't the answer, and I am admittedly not a "gun guy." Criminals, nut jobs, and fricking losers, like this ****** will find guns one way or another.

Mental health is a large, crippling part of this society that has not, and likely will not, be addressed. We don't even have "loony bin" facilities anymore.

In the meantime, we need to do what we can, with the resources we have, to secure our schools. Lock them down and have security. Use our tax dollars for some sort of good instead of wasting them

The problem is the unwillingness to address preventative measures. It’s all or nothing with many folks, and you can see it on this board.

When gun control is mentioned:
-“it’s my right to bear arms! I need to protect myself when the govt comes to take over”

When mental health is mentioned:
-“the govt has no right to determine who is mentally fit!”

Red flag laws:
-“those govt bastards will flag me when I post a picture of the gun I used to kill a deer!”

Lack of religion:
-“bullshite! I’m pro-choice too! You religious nuts can’t tell me that I need Jesus!”

It goes on and on. Nobody in here wants to solve the problem. Nobody in here wants to even take steps to mitigate the problem. Media and government has driven a wedge into this society, so any attempts to meet halfway will fail.

You can blame Reagan for starting it, but plenty more have done more than him to gut mental healthcare in this country.

Don’t think this is correct. The two teachers that were killed were unrelated to the shooter per a brief write up on each victim.

I gathered that after reading. That poster just said it with so much certainty.
