being electric has nothing to do with it.

It has everything to do with it. you haven't yet noticed all of this is on purpose?

The sudden lock step messaging about electric cars and green energy while we wait for the omnibus bill to be voted on sight unseen?

The demonstrated ability and enthusiasm about de-personing a group of people based on their political beliefs.

We're living in a god damned black mirror episode.

First off, probably less than 5% of US households have 4 vehicles.

Now do suburban households.

IDGAF about city “households”. My world is suburbia.

Why do you want to shove urbanism down my throat?

What would be a valid reason to ever use something that has zero relevance to make this comparison or arrive at this opinion?

Are you insinuating that consumers somehow wouldn’t have to pay for the grid upgrades? Because they would. Even the ones that don’t convert to an EV.

I was thinking about getting an EV a while back and ran the numbers on energy v gas costs based on my driving habits. I don’t remember the exact specifics, but it got me to saving ~$800/year in cost between fuel consumption and energy increase. Didn’t seem worth it when you consider the EV was $10-15k more expensive.

I already told you that almost nothing needs to be done to the grid that doesn't need to be done anyway. Who is feeding everyone these lies?

Do you understand the difference between power and energy, and how this difference relates to charging EVs?

Not sure what part you're missing but virtually any new car can be locked up, EV or not.

In your hypothetical, it does not matter if you have an EV or not, your car can be bricked.

Based on your logic, it sounds like those with an EV should feel safe but you baws with an ICE vehicle are actually the ones who should be worried about the government locking you out of your car, no?

So, not only are EV owners no longer chipping in on road upkeep via gas tax

Here in Ark. EVers have to pay a $200 a year "fee" for owning a gasless vehicle. Fair enough. If they are going to be driving on the same road that I am then they should help pay for that road also.

That's cheap. Isn't gas tax like 18 cents a gallon?

Maybe the fed tax and arkansas adds another 22 cents I think. The average driver burns maybe 500-1000 gallons per year, so $200 for an EV is about right I guess.
