Of course that isn't happening anytime soon.
That doesn't mean he's saying the state will be shut down until there's a vaccine.
There is a middle ground. Continue social distancing and isolating vulnerable, but re-open businesses. It isn't fricking hard.
I've seen a few posts on IG regarding "what we are going to do when things go back to normal" and everyone has said something to the effect of "hug and kiss so many necks!!"
I'm not touching anyone.. ever.

At what point do the “vulnerable” just say frick this and go on living their lives as well? If someone has around10-15 years left of semi good years would you want to waste 1-1.5 of those until a suitable, non rushed vaccine was out on the chance you may get covid?...I wouldn’t.

Of course you do. You're one of the hysterical nitwits.

Half full hospitals and flattened curve. We handled the original goal of closed by stuff up with flying colors. Open up the economy.

What have I said that is "hysterical" during this whole thing? Sorry for agreeing with the approach our President has taken. Keep your TDS in check.
I'm not the one talking about re-watering the tree of liberty with the blood of patriots and tyrants like a good portion of this board.

I agree, but these politicians are going to use this for their gain.

You've been solidly in the DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM camp since this shite started.

It's time to fire up the helicopters.

Completely false. I disagreed that this was some apocalyptic event from the beginning. Just like I disagree with the economy doomcasters as well. This was a serious situation that we have thus far mitigated fairly well. We should continue on this path and begin to open up things soon, with common sense restrictions for a period of time. I've said for over a week that we should be lifting the stay at home orders on or before the end of this month.

And he can’t make me take a vaccine.
Who knows if it’ll even work? Look at the flu vaccine.

Well he’s right.
Things as we knew it before won’t be the way they were until they come up with a vaccine.
That doesn’t mean everything will stay closed until then.

Did anyone know prior to last month that the governor had the authority to do things like this?
This is a very serious question.

The governor has the authority to do whatever the frick he wants until the voters decide he doesn't.
We're seeing that all across the country right now.

What does he mean by normal? That is the biggest question.
Is normal when we go back to the way things were exactly?
Will social distancing recommendations such as minimizing handshakes, hugs, etc be considered not normal?
This is the issue. State what the heck you mean by normal, because that is the crux of all of this. There is a reason, though, why none of them will do that.

with common sense restrictions for a period of time
Half-full restaurants? they will stay closed, they dont make money this way
No events, sports, etc etc? That kill the hospitality industry, the travel industry, etc etc
There needs to be ZERO restrictions when opened, and people use social distancing, masks if wanted, less physical contact, more hand washing etc etc

right
. i love how i've been labeled a libcuck/doomcaster/etc. when i've basically been lockstep with Trump the entire time.

But this changes everything. The main things we thought about America aren't actually true.

If JBEs hair doesn’t start looking shaggy I’ll be pissed.
