I don’t believe a vaccine will happen. This is just an excuse to destroy businesses and get everyone on the government tit. Better chance with the antibody test and effective treatment.

I dont want things to get back to normal. The shite the news made popular and all the silly shite people were obsessed with needs to be looked at and weighed for worth.

People need to get more real and less ridiculous

LSU already pipes in all the music they just need to turn bitch I’m from Louisiana up a little bit and no one would notice. Or would you rather kill 95 year olds and people of size?

what will they open on may 1st?

"healthy people under 45 years old with a BMI lower than 30 are now allowed to eat out at restaurants, everyone else stay home!"

is that the logic the "opening up" crowd is going with?

No. We are going with “open up business and let people make their own decision if they want to go. Remember don’t be a dirty frick and wash your hands”

Exactly. He isn't saying that the state will be shutdown until there is a vaccine. He is saying that things won't return to the way they were before the outbreak until there is a vaccine.

This doesn't mean businesses can't be open. But it might mean no concerts. Or continuing to wear face masks. Or the need to wash hands more. Or removing tables at a restaurant so people are further apart.

It seems like people on here are so delicate that they want to cry about everything a politician says. When did we all get so damn sensitive?

cant isolate vulnerable populations when half the population is obese

so what is going to open and for whom, serious question

i think we can both agree that sports, schools, concerts, are shut down for the foreseeable future - what is opening?

Even if the laughable doomsday prediction of 2 million dying happened, that wouldn’t put a dent in the economy

So you are going to have to reach harder

0.5% of the population dying, with most of those being people of the age where they are already out of the workforce, ain’t crashing the economy

where am i reaching exactly? is the economy not crashing? what are the unemployment numbers again?

and your plan is, correct me if i am wrong, "go to work if you want to and be sure to wash your hands"

According to JBE, we had the 4th fastest growing economy in the country too before the shutdown.

My plan is you open up business, keep social distancing, keep hand washing on peoples mind, encourage masks, etc etc

right.

my point tho, even if Florida and TX and Mississippi "open up" on may 1st, they're not really doing so bc most things will still be shut down, right?

i just don't see a path to activate a true reopening (schools, sports, bars, concerts) unless we have wide-scale robust testing or contact tracing, serology tests to determine immunity, etc and we do not currently have the infrastructure for that

so even a "soft" reopening is still bulshit - what are you going to do, enforce social distancing at bars and restaurants?

Oh please. The fact of the matter is that hospitals are empty, death rate is on par with the seasonal flu, and this entire situation has been blown entirely out of proportion.

We don’t need any of that to get back to “normal”. People die every day. Its part of life. The Corona will always be around just like the flu. Its time for people to stop being sensitive pussies and get back to life.
