EDS is connected to POTS. Connective tissue elasticity from EDS can cause the orthostatic disturbance in POTS.
Chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and 'long COVID' are basically the same disorder... ~90% mental 10% physiological.

I have EDS, and I assure you it is a very real condition. I also don't use the fatigue as an excuse to be a little bitch. The fragile skin and blood vessels are by far the most impactful part of the condition.

Ehlers-Danlos syndromes (EDS)?? This is a real one. Not sure what other you could be talking about.

fibromyalgia
It is a real thing, but there is usaally some other secondary cause, like anxiety or depression and the patients never want to treatment directed there so it is usually a mess. But Cymbalta, also known as Duloxetine, which is an SSRI, has some weak analgesia properties and as such is usually what is used for fibromyalgia.

If I remember correctly, there’s like 13 types of EDS. The most serious one is the vascular type. The most commonly diagnosed type is the hypermobile type.
I think for most, if not all, of the the subtypes (excluding hypermobile) has a genetic marker. Meaning if that test is positive, you almost certainly have it.
The hypermobile type doesn’t have a genetic marker and is a clinical diagnosis. I don’t think the criteria for the clinical diagnosis is without controversy.
In my opinion, the hypermobile EDS is probably over diagnosed.

Yes, average lifespan of 48 years. I did a genetic test a few years ago to rule this type out

They are real but they have been co-opted by the chronic illness fakers and sick-tok crowd and are miserable to deal with as a healthcare professional.
There are multiple types of Ehlers-Danlos for example, however the one chosen by the malingerers is conveniently the one for which there is no genetic testing available.

My sons smoke a ton of this. They don't feel like doing shite afterwards. So I say this one's real.

Yeah, likely because you are dehydrated and don't have good blood flow. Now imagine feeling like that everyday.

I have EDS. Got a hip replacement at age 43 to prove it. My joints are loose and causes all kinds of issues. I still work full time and live an active lifestyle despite the condition

I was diagnosed with CFS. It was later discovered I have about a 90% deficinecy in multiple vitamins including B6, B12 and D. I had to take supplements. I have always maintained multiple jobs to hustle and be ahead, but I definitely felt the difference on the supplements and energy levels.
Personally, I wonder if sometimes my tiredness is just boredom.

Rocco Baldelli was one of baseballs best young OFs in the early 2000s before mitochondrial issue causing chronic fatigue ended his career. Dude never hit a big payday so no reason to think he was lying.

Yeah's for sure quite a bit of this around. Just like so many influencers or their followers will claim they are "neurodivergent". Some may actually believe their self-diagnosis. Some do it because they want to feel unique. Some just do it for internet clout. I doubt very many of these self-diagnosers actually have the conditions
