They're parking their vehicles out of sight and standing next to light poles. I saw one on Hooper & Sullivan yesterday, also at Greenwell springs and Joor. Been hearing about them in other places around town. I've never seen EBR Sheriff doing this. I've seen them do it in Port Allen many times. Have you seen one in the last few days? If so, where?

If this passes, expect it to continue. If you didn't think the DA & Sheriffs Associations don't run this state...newsflash.

Can't find money to give teachers a slight raise or raise the minimum wage from where it's been for 10 years, but we can do this. Amazing.

if the work was worth more employers would pay it.

it's one of the big weekends for it, memorial day weekend/labor day

they start on Wednesdays and have all week/end to get people speeding and those drunk drivers.

I got linked up to this dude who says it's racial targeting.

I'm not even going to respond to it knowing what I saw in Central yesterday because that wouldn't change his mind i'm certain.

Gary Chambers May 20 at 4:00 PM · There is a Sheriff’s deputy sitting in his truck at the corner of Greenwell Springs Road and Joor, while another two are standing by a light pole. The one in the truck identifies the cars turning on Joor with an infraction and the others walk out in the street and pulls them over. This type of targeting isn’t making Baton Rouge safer, it’s simply fining the citizens of this parish. This isn’t making our community safer. So if you’re in north Baton Rouge near Joor and Greenwell Springs Road pay attention because the fine patrol is on duty. I know there is more important police work that can be done today than this. I’m going to post about this, because unnecessary encounters with the police aren’t beneficial for our community, or any community. This type of policing also negatively impacts poor people, who end up dealing with fines over inspection stickers. I guess giving tickets will help reduce crime.... Did I mention we vote for Sheriff this year?

Teachers don't open carry nor have the power of arrest is the reason they don't setup ambushes to rob and harass passersby.

Does EBR parish have a pre-trial intervention program for speeders?

Yes. I’m not sure the number of times you can use it though.

Also, there is a shut ton of actual crime that goes on in EBR. Inspection stickers hurt no one. Go solve some real crime instead of fining is for inspection stickers and going 34 in a 30

I'm not advocating for $15/hr, but it's been $7.25 for a decade now. Even for teens that's ridiculous.

Well, yeah. That's why cuts to education are an all-time favorite across Lewzianer.

An educated constituency is a politicians worst nightmare.

As someone said, if their skills or if the job warranted higher pay, they would get it. No need for the gov to force jt
