Given the choice, would you rather pull over or roadblock a high percentage of hot LSU co-eds or a bunch of lower income minorities that don't like the police?

Yep because the low level road warriors choose where to set up a roadblock and not the captains/chiefs. You're an idiot.
It's 100% about white people have more dispensable cash than black folk.

Can we talk about how shitty heat maps are at representing data? There is no doubt more DWIs in SBR, but a spike or visual hill map would be much better suited for this type of data. Heat maps rely too much on scale, which is not easily determined most of the time, or at all in the case of OP's map.

No, you are a fricking internet tough guy.

I know the guy that used to run the Task Force a-hole. I know exactly who makes that decision and it ain't the Chief or a Division Captain.

The Chiefs and Captains are the ones worrying about budget. The guys at this level don't think that strategically. But you keep telling yourself you know what you are talking about.

That is correct. Only time other people get them is when there is a wreck involved.

The DWI Task Force in BR is pretty ruthless. They make $100k/yr in overtime and pull over every single car they see with a driver under 40

This is a cool graphic, but it does not really tell me anything.

Does it represent the home addresses of the arrestees, or the location of the incident?

GTFO with that kind of bullshite. This type of attitude towards DWIs is a major problem IMO. Don't act like they're harassing college kids about weed - they're arresting drivers who are intoxicated and getting on the road. It is all just an inconvenience until they kill someone.

I've got no issue with the DWI arrests because many of those people are just as dangerous in that state as the ones you want them to go patrol. If anything, I'd argue that the penalties are not nearly severe enough, particularly for 2nd time or worse offenders.

ETA: If you want to bitch and moan about inspection sticker check points and shite, that is fine by me, and you've got a point. However, trying to make a point about what else they could be doing with their time other than issuing DWIs is stupid.

They know mom and dad will foot the DWI bill. Folks from North BR are far less likely to have a mom or dad who works and would just serve to bloat the system.

I know if that map was reversed there would be an investigation on the BRPD for racism

That would be the noble reason. The truth is DWIs are always given out in more affluent neighborhoods. That is true for cities without college towns. It is a money grab first and foremost

One of the most corrupt things I have seen. We had officers pulling in 5,000+ work years and making 200k+

Unreal

North BR looks pretty green...

That's mostly the residential areas. You do have some orange spots along Plank Rd, and near the Airport.

Money grab or not, I've got no sympathy for someone charged with a DUI. If you're guilty and heading home on Highland or Plank I really couldn't care less.
