That was one cool eagle. First the snake and then the lions. Africa is great.

There's no way Africa is a real place.

I like how the two lions are just in the back laughing at their friend like "hey watch this dumbass"

Feels like those big cats were bored and didn’t want the snake or the eagle on their turf.

I’d like to think the lioness recognized the black mamba as a threat to her pride and wanted it gone

Did the mamba not bite the eagle?

If not, why? Surely that would’ve killed an eagle.

It did bite the eagle. The eagle was in venom shock (according to one of the comments).

Black Mambas have a nearly 100 percent mortality rate for humans without antivenom.

I can’t imagine an eagle could survive that.

Snake Eagles weigh about 5 pounds.

I bet that is the last Black Mamba that eagle ever fricks with.

They eat snakes, and it's hard to tell a black mamba from other non-venomous snakes. It's one of the few venomous varieties that does not have a telltale head.

Reminds me of that scene in the Raiders of the Lost Ark when that german dude said shoot them both. Indy and the other guy he was fighting over a gun with both turn the gun and start shooting at the germans.

I saw that comment too and I don't think that's right. I thought the eagle must have had some sort of immunity to venom like honey badgers or something. Turns out they don't. I seriously think it was either playing dead, somehow wrapped up in the snake that we couldn't see, or just stunned that his life had taken this turn. Mamba venom would have put it down for the count with a quickness.

Way to go, eagle. Also, I think that one lion might be dead now.

Khan and supervisor Richardson do have a theory. "Some birds attack snakes with impunity, even though they have no resistance," Richardson says. "It seems that the resistance is redundant: There is no selection pressure for it. Birds have feathers, scaly legs, excellent vision, are very intelligent, and are very agile. The snakes don't stand a chance against all these adaptations, so birds just don't need to be resistant."
No venom resistance in snake-eating birds: 'They just don't need it'

The lionesses are like "look at these 2 retards"

The snake is like "frick off, this is my catch"

Eagle says "get yo nasty slithering arse off me", looks at the lionesses and says "frick off suckers!"

Yea, but the other poster (and the comments) suggest the eagle was bitten and was in venom shock. I don't believe this to be correct, as the eagle weighs only 5 pounds or less. The eagle would've died. Or perhaps it did die later.
