Monday morning conference calls that repeat the same things over and over. Could easily do once or twice a month.
Also idiots signing emails with some bs pronouns. So I don’t know if Samantha has penis or a vagina?????????????? If you reply ‘thanks man’ you could get an HR call….

Are there egress maps in the building that show that path?

Not that I've seen.

When I was first hired 5 years ago we had some that pointed us to the nearest exit. Since then they change policy but no new egress maps.

I don't know where to start, but its a State agency which is moving to the private or a hybrid sector.

Not soon enough though.

This has to kill productivity. And not necessarily because all minorities are bad employees, many are great. But when you refuse to consider 60% of the population you’re gonna get a lot of bad employees out of the remaining 40% because a certain percentage of all demographics are useless people. Basically doing this reduces your labor pool and will lead to lower efficiency and productivity. It would have the same effect if you refused to hire anything but white men. This nations large economy requires everyone to keep it moving and you don’t have the numbers if you intentionally exclude certain demographics from consideration.

My office is included in an area whose designated tornado shelter is the company gym. Two walls in the gym are entirely covered with mirror wall panels.

With the very real prospect of glass shards and dumbells whizzing around at 150+ mph, imagine a worse place to be if a tornado rolls through.

Lotta that been going on for years. And pretty much everyone involved knows when it was a really dumb idea.

A few particular minority retards had to keep getting shuffled to try and keep them from either doing too much damage in one spot or becoming a PR nightmare.

Work for a University. You don’t get drug tested until after an accident. Afraid that most Professors or Administration wouldn’t pass. Diversity and inclusion is a joke. Allow to many to work from home. Nothing happens that day.

I've thought about sending the fire Marshall a little letter about it.

You probably should. The first thing the fire marshal will ask is what if one of the designated exits IS the fire?

Egress is critical and having alternate exit strategies is key to managing an unknown emergency. Also key is the speed of the evacuation. First responders are usually within 2 minutes of a call, so the first question they have when reaching the site is "who is in the building"? Having a proper head count within 2 minutes is a strategy that allows first responders to fight a fire rather than search for unaccounted personnel in the building. Bottleneck an egress plan and the risk to the business increases because first responders are hand-tied with rescues.

Closest exit, always. Make the rest of your plan fit around that.

I have had more than one person here tell me since I was hired in February that I must have been really lucky since I meet no diversity quota.

Hires newer, less experienced employees at a higher rate than seasoned employees that have been here for 3 years.

Check how that sits with you when you change the (3) to (15).
Not having annual performance reviews, or maintaining a wage scale based upon market value and/or inflation will lead to a multitude of problems. 100%
And some business owners totally blind to it.

We have a really overbearing recruitment department. When I make any choice, it has to be sent back to recruitment who then scrutinize the hire, review the applicants and interviewees and then badger me why hired the person with the most experience and best interview.

Occasionally I will have to reopen and re-interview so our diversity is super sparkly.
