Dude, that's not the accepted nomenclature. We prefer "limited speed".

Good point, why have any rules or laws at all?

No one is saying that, but whats the point of a gun free zone?

I suspect that the point is the owner of the establishment prefers it that way and we believe in private property rights in the USA. Just a guess on my part.

Does the gun free zone make the place any safer, doubtful (with the possible exception of the guy who legally carries who lose his mind for some reason or the gun that falls out of the holster and accidentally goes off and injures someone). But it may help certain customers to feel more comfortable.

I really don't care.

Great idea, the government should do a mandatory buy-back gun program for all gang members, criminals, and other radical hate groups!

They deter honest people from committing crimes. They do not prevent determined criminals... They punish them.

I said pretty much the exact same thing you did.

I think it was Tennessee that recently instituted a law that said any business that declared itself as a gun-free zone would be liable for any deaths/injuries that occurred on their property if you were to get shot. If you take away people’s ability to defend themselves then it’s up to the business to provide that security and I’m perfectly fine with that.

Very interesting if true. One could also argue that you weren't forced to shop there and that that was the risk you took coming in.

Well, I guess that's good if you like government overreach and blaming people other than the criminal that does the shooting. Should we hold the owner of an establishment liable if he allows concealed or open carry and someone with a legal carry right inadvertently or intentionally shoots someone? Or do we hold those CC licensed folks liable for not providing protection to others there?

I'm all for the second amendment and don't want Uncle Sam doing anything to abridge that right but I also believe private property rights supercede your right to do anything, legal or illegal, on my property.

What if I started a church where we worshipped guns? Could I bring a gun in there?

You won't get arrested for carrying concealed into a place that just posts a no guns sign. They can ask you to leave, which you must do but it's not against any Louisiana law unless it's a place the the law says you can not carry.

Regardless, if I'm carrying concealed how are they going to know? Search every customer?

Is this something you regularly consider?
I consider all the possibilities. 9 times out of 10 if a place posts no guns I go else where for a variety of reasons. But yes I do worry about people who are gullible enough to believe that posting a no guns sign actually make them safer.

It's trespassing, but you're right, they wouldn't likely know.

Not sure if this actually became a law, but according to an article about the proposed legislation, it would give a concealed carry permit holder the right to sue.

From an article about the proposed legislation;

"The legislation places responsibility on the business or property owner of the gun-free area to protect the gun owner from any incidents that occur with any “invitees,” trespassers and employees found on the property, as well as vicious and wild animals and “defensible man-made and natural hazards.”

The bill does not define defensible man-made and natural hazards.

A handgun carry permit holder who is injured by any of the aforementioned would be able to file a lawsuit within two years of when the event occurred, provided they meet the following requirements... According to the language of the bill, the right to sue the property owner does not extend to individuals without gun permits."
