Police Arrest Man with Cocaine and Stolen Handgun at Movie Tavern Citiplace

How can you bring a gun into a place that has a NO GUNS sign on the door? I thought that was illegal and kept us safe from bad guys with guns?

quote:

According to an affidavit of probable cause, a server noticed a handgun sitting in plain sight on Stcyr’s lap while serving him. She notified the manager who then notified police. The theater has a no-weapons policy which is clearly posted on the front door.

I agree. I don't understand how he did not see the sign and not put the gun back in his car before entering the theater.

Good point, why have any rules or laws at all?

Should be a felony.

We should be encouraging A1 gun ownership, and heavily hammer shitty owners.

No one is saying that, but whats the point of a gun free zone?

He will end up getting a suspended sentence from a pandering liberal judge and be back on the streets to kill a cop just like Jerman Neveaux. The folly of the left trying to expand gun control is that their leftist judges already refuse to strictly enforce CURRENT laws to keep guns away from criminals.

To let people with evil intent know that everybody in there is defenseless.

A private business may ban guns as they wish. On their property.

well by law these are the only places a CHP holder can not carry.

-A law enforcement office, station, or building;
-A detention facility, prison, or jail;
-A courthouse or courtroom, provided that a judge may carry such a weapon in his own courtroom;
-A polling place;
-A meeting place of the governing authority of a political subdivision;
-The state capitol building;
-Any portion of an airport facility where the carrying of firearms is prohibited under federal law, except that no person shall be prohibited from carrying any legal firearm into the terminal, if the firearm is encased for shipment, for the purpose of checking such firearm as lawful baggage;
-Any church, synagogue, mosque or similar place of worship; See RS 40:1379.3 (U)
-A parade or demonstration for which a permit is issued by a governmental entity;
-Any portion of the permitted area of an establishment that has been granted a Class A-General retail permit, as defined in Part II of Chapter 1 or Part II of Chapter 2 of Title 26 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950, to sell alcoholic beverages for consumption on the premises.
-Any school "firearm free zone" as defined in R.S. 14:95.6.

Your logic is that criminals won't listen to gun free zones. By that logic, why have a law against murder? Hasn't stopped any murders, right?

And any private property where the owner forbids it, no?

Hmmm, I am perplexed that someone would blatantly disregard the posted policy?
