I can say with certainty that this never would have happened in my day and that was when fraternities were having the big open parties and unlimited alcohol. We policed ourselves and I remember more than once when guys got drunk and handsy with dates. We shut that shite down with a quickness because we didn't want it reflecting on the Chapter and screwing up our relationship with a sorority. This guy would have gotten a beating right before we threw him in the lake. I have no idea what is going on at LSU where the police weren't called to the scene and this guy handed over. The story reads as if he was arrested later.
If that is the case, then I do call into question the Chapters responsibility and think they do deserve discipline. If they held him and called the police then it is a different story.
