It'd be nice if that judge could take such a principled stand and just rule the entire federal welfare system unconstitutional. But the 10th Amendment has been dead for a century now. Where in the hell does it say the federal government has the right to take my money away from me and give it to someone else?

I don't believe that because that is far lower results than a random sample would obtain.

These results are only from those who admitted drug use in the past 30 days. Those are the ones who were tested. The whole testing program is a waste of more of the taxpayers money.

FIFY. The more we spend on welfare the more people get on welfare. It is amazing.

a half-assed policy be driven by right-wingers.
It's a policy that the majority of taxpayers support, that has been watered down and made totally ineffective by leftists because they don't want welfare leeches to lose their benefits.

What kind of fricknut would ask a welfare leech if they're on drugs and expect an honest response. This is such bullshite, but I expect nothing less than this from Democrats. Gotta keep the leeches on welfare to keep them votes coming.

I think drug testing them is stupid. It just adds more beacraucy into state gov. and testing is not cheap. You aren't really accomplishing or saving much when you catch someone anyway. And yes, those that work have to get drug tested bubba and there is a reason for that generally. It's so you don't hurt someone at the jobsite or that the employer knows they have a good employee. If you want to do something that matters and cost billions of dollars in real money, go after people on disability that shouldn't be. Fine their asses and get back money they didn't deserve. Fine the stupid arse doctors and shrinks who allowed them to get onto disability also. End of rant.

Welfare >>>> Disability when it comes to political fodder.

Because of the way it's run and implemented. I promise you, the lawmakers who wrote this law didn't propose it to be voluntary and allow people to skip out on it.

And I guarantee you its Democrats who are in charge of the testing.

Doesn't mention that many of the recipients were told they would be drug tested in the near future.

Okay, let's look at this in a logical fashion.

It was apparently Republicans who passed these laws in response to pressure or agreement with their supporters who are sick of the system. Why would they want their own law to fail?

Which party benefits the most from welfare recipients?

Which party do you think all of the government workers who work at welfare offices support?

Welfare is a great vote buying scheme for Dems, don't even try to deny it.

Way to put your Republi-blinders on and not use your brain. I'm a libertarian and believe in fiscal conservative policies. It's incredibly dumb to waste resources drug testing recipients of welfare. The government should not waste our tax dollars doing so. End of discussion.

Hair tests? You do know that your average urine tests are really cost States approximately 15 to $20 per test. Hair test go up towards a hundred bucks a pop. Do you really think this is a good use of state money?
