Only if you are on the receiving end.

Okay. When they they start coming after us in our homes and communities I will just tote around my 12 gauge and boxes of 6 shot. I knew mine and my sons competitive sporting clays hobby would amount to something one day. So everybody go get a 12 gauge semi automatic and go practice at your closest skeet/trap range or sporting clays facilities. Get proficient within 25 yards with a skeet choke and you will be good.

Ha, true. It's probably a blast for the pilots.

I shouldn't have eaten before watching that.

How well are these drones guarded from theft?
Hell, the Obama administration is probably selling them to terrorist groups.
*Yes, I meant "Obama administration"

These drones, not if but when they get into terrorists hands...I don't ever want to think about it.
Open air events will become very dangerous.
Are there drone defense systems?

Maybe Ukraine is just the live action testing ground for this new form of warfare. Nothing else much seems to be getting accomplished there.
And frick that noise. Thankfully I'm too old at this point for our politicians to be interested in sacrificing me for their global power bloodlust and money laundering scams.

Yep, just a reminder that next time some idiot starts cheering for war with Iran / China / Russia and sending troops overseas, this is the kind of shite our soldiers are going to be facing.

This bloodshed could stop if we would stop funding it.
I'm sure Putin would make a magnanimous dictator over Ukraine.

Seems like a 12 gauge shotgun with bird shot could take these drones out 40 or so yards away before they hit their intended target.
Along with rifles, these soldiers might have to start carrying shotguns to nock these drones out of the sky. At least have a drone protection team with each group.

I was just thinking maybe I need to add some #4 shot to my doomsday pile. Hell I bet #6 would take a small drone out.

Who makes these drones?
Ukrainians are building a very large number themselves. They are cheap and horribly effective often costing <$500.
Our Switchblade suicide drones cost $60k or more each.
The front is over 800 miles of territory.

Eh, I'm torn on this. While it is insane to think it's probably a bunch of 20 year olds blowing people up like it's Call of Duty in a nice enclosed trailer, on the other hand the Russians are invading another country and once you try that, anything goes.
If a foreign country tried to invade America and they asked for volunteers to blow up invaders from my couch, I'd do it 20 hour a days.
There is a long ugly history of bad blood between Russia and Ukraine with Ukraine having suffered genocidal attacks from Stalin within living memory. That won't be forgotten or forgiven ever.
The drone operators are not so far away from their actions since the RC has limited range. Drone operators on both sides hunt each other as prime targets from what I've seen.

Yeah the most fricked yo one I have seen was a Russian soldier playing hide and seek from a drone hiding under jumping on top and running around a blown up tank dodging the thing, was a little to slow jumping under the tank and thing self detonated about 3-5’ above his legs and lower body.
What a way to go, no way to fight back unless I would think some kind of radio wave jammer or a damn old school semi auto shotgun to try and shoot em out of the air

A lot of the ones being using in Ukraine are made by DJI. There was no reason to reinvent the wheel.

I think I'd be more immune to watching something like this in my early 20s but now that I have a son myself and friends that have served and been wounded/killed overseas these videos affect you differently. That's someone's son/grandson/baby brother rolling around in the mud and cold in excruciating pain. God forbid if there was clear sound and you'd have to hear those poor guys calling out for their mothers and comrades. I don't think I'd be able stomach the entire video at that point.

That was part of the training for gunners on WWII bombers.

A friend of mines gf was a drone operator with jsoc.
I’ve heard some pretty wild stories of how capable they are. Literally anyone ,anytime..

Pretty sure if this footage got more play no one would ever go to war again.
You used to have to kill a man with your hands, and people still had war. Now war is so impersonal that you can conduct it behind a computer screen.
You think more dehumanizing and greater distances between the attacker and the dead is going to lead to less war?
