Have no problem with it. If an emergency and NEED to get somewhere fast, put hazard on so people recognize and get out of the way. If bad weather with low visibility, put hazard on to increase safety.
Well according to LA RS 32:327, it's against the law.
But aside from that, putting on your hazards and driving 35 on the interstate in poor visibility is dangerous and makes you an a-hole. Pull over to the shoulder until the rain stops.

This all day. I don't want to have to guess if these dumbasses are braking

How this become a thing is mind blowing...it's become an epidemic. It's spreading like wild fire. You used to never see this and now it's everywhere.
I guess the low IQ folks have started teaching this to their kids in the last three or four years. I never used to see it. Now it's like people think they have to come on with the windshield wipers when it starts raining.

If I'm coming up on a car in the middle lane with hazards on, I'll turn on my blinker and change lanes. When said driver switches lanes with no ability to warn drivers behind him because he has his hazards on, and veers into the lane of vehicles trying to pass him, how is that safe?
Oh, so if he veers into traffic trying to pass him, it's a safe maneuver if he's got his turn signal on? What a magical device!!!

New Years resolutions are for weak minded people.
You should reevaluate your life bro.

Cops in LA need to start writing tickets for this. Same with camping in the left hand lane.

Yes it's a safe maneuver if he turns his blinker on beforehand to warn the drivers behind him that he's switching lanes.
How is that so hard to understand?

Do I really need to explain this to you?
I tell you what, go outside and turn on your stupid hazard lights and then try to use your turn signals and/or brake lights.
Above all else, it's illegal.
Thank you! But these idiots will never learn. Same responses every time this thread come up.

Baby steps. We need to focus on getting one thing fixed every 10 years. Let's work on getting people to use blinkers first.

It is against the law to use your hazard lights while driving in Louisiana. You are making the road more unsafe.
Hazard lights indicate a motionless vehicle.

look, if you have amber turn signals in the rear, it's not a huge deal, but if you have all red rear lights it makes your lights flash when hitting the brakes and you lose the ability to indicate a turn.
So do you turn the flashers off, then indicate a turn, then turn them back on? Or do you change lanes in low visibility without warning other drivers of your intent?
The big problem here is it's too damn easy to pass the driving test. It needs to be harder and everyone should have to retake the written every four years and the driving part every eight years.

It is acceptable to drive with your hazards on if there is a low visibility and you're driving very slow in the right lane on the interstate. I don't personally do it, but it's totally acceptable. It's a courtesy to the commercial tractor trailer drivers. I doubt they care too much about pissing off people melting about it in this thread either.

I don't think you understand. It's not about being a pussy. Hazard lights don't help you see anything and driving with them on does little more than make your turn signals impossible to see. Depending on your vehicle your brake lights might also be compromised.

No it's not. It's against the law.

hmmm. I could live with blinkers in the rain if we eliminated camping in the left lane.

It's not against the law everywhere.

It's not difficult to understand. It's the fact that you people act as if this causes wrecks of biblical proportions.

You shouldn't be driving very slow on the interstate unless traffic is driving very slow. If you are 20-30 mph less than traffic you need to get off the road.
