If a driver needs to put on hazard lights, he should pull over at the very first opportunity. Most people assume hazard lights indicate a vehicle is stopped or stopping very soon. In bad weather/low visibility it's only okay to have them on while driving "slowly in the right lane" if you are actively looking for a place to quickly pull over and stop.

I will continue to use my hazard lights to warn people of issues.
I make the determination of what those issues are.
If the OP has an issue, please put it in the damn OP. Don't make us all wonder what your silly issue is. ITS NOT OBVIOUS.
5 or 10 people posted that they APPRECIATE when people use hazards in some circumstances.
Yes, I have pulled over a couple of times in my life. heavy fog. driving rain that the wipers could not keep up with.

Seems to me like the guy tailgating a vehicle with its hazards on is the one who was making things dangerous.
What leads you to believe that I was tailgating?
I was a good two car lengths behind this idiot, and because visibility was not optimal it took me an extra second or two to realize that this inbred was braking.
People that use their hazards in the rain are putting the lives of everyone else on the road at risk and deserve to have their licenses revoked.

What are the issues you're warning people of? Are you trying to tell other drivers that it's raining hard like they don't already know that? The only instance I can see you trying to warn other drivers about is if there is an accident ahead or a stalled vehicle. Kinda like when drivers put their turn signal on when the car in front of them is turning even though they aren't planning to turn. It is illegal and stupid to do. You're basically just trying to let other drivers know that you're petrified of the rain and to stay away.

The only time I have heard state trooper say it was illegal was on 870 am. Scoot asked her for the statute and she couldn't answer. She came back on and said it is legal. You can't link the statute showing it is illegal. I did show where it is legal. Plus, I know NOPD officers that say they can take your firearm and make you bring your bill of sale to get it back. Next time you here an officer say it is illegal, ask them for the exact statute. Watch them crawfish. This is in Louisiana.

Have no problem with it. If an emergency and NEED to get somewhere fast, put hazard on so people recognize and get out of the way. If bad weather with low visibility, put hazard on to increase safety.
It properly used in Europe to signal to drives behind you that there is an accident or traffic is slowing down really fast like in Germany.

The worst is a car going 70 in the left lane with their flashers on in clear weather. WTF you need them on for. Pisses me off,
