Drives me nuts when people want to merge in and get angry that no one will let them but they don't use a blinker. It would be nice to know what you're planning on doing or wanting to do.

More often than not, other people on the road make me want to wave, but use only one finger.

I imagine it goes like this:

And I always whether its nice or not, at nighttime, if a big rig passes me,I flash my headlights letting them know there's plenty of room to get back over.

You dip your lights bit flash them.
You turn your headlights on and off to say it's okay to pull in front of me. You flash your lights to say "get out the way"
You also dip your lights to thank drivers behind you.

I always wave a thank you. And when I don't get a wave, I wave at them. I figure they need to be educated.

First of all it is a LEFT turn lane, not a stop in the middle and then hope someone lets you over. Secondly, why do people feel like they can ride in this lane forever before turning left? Sorry. One of my pet peeves. I'm done

Last week in Houston on the Westpark tollway someone let me in. When I gave him a thank you wave, he flipped me the bird!

Yes, George Costanza, why didn't you follow that guy and tell him how rude he was.

Those that don't wave are complete douchebags.

The problem is that you didn't realized the driver was entitled to your courtesy. No wave required for what is rightfully his.

If I let some in and they don't give it, no skin to me.

I used to always do it but a few years ago I read a story about a gang in Houston that would let people merge in traffic and if they gave a wave would follow them home and kill them. It was some sort of initiation. Now I just avoid any contact with other drivers to be safe.
