How do you take that long? If the light turns and I can still see their dumbass heads buried in their phone, I'm laying on the horn

That's pretty much it. If their eyes aren't forward when that light turns green, the horn gets used instantly. Not the "friendly beep-beep" horn, either. The long "you're an a-hole and should watch your children die" horn.

And the famous left lane slow drivers along with anyone who drives a minivan..I've noticed a lot of jeeps lately being as bad as the minivan drivers.

I give them hardly one second before I'm hitting the horn. When you are first at the light you have a responsibility, not just to the person behind you or the person behind them, but to the person 8, 9, 10 cars back to do your best to not waste time and give them a shot at getting that light.

This whole phone in hand situation has gotten farther out of control that anyone could've anticipated. From black to white, young to old, male to female, no matter race, color or creed. Most people that are on the roads are inconsiderate, selfish and obsessed with god knows what on their phones. There's nothing going on that is that important to be constantly looking at your phone, nothing. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Which means she is waiting on someone to honk. How lazy, self-absorbed is that?

By the time that you realize that they're not moving, blow your horn, they look up and realize what's going on... they drive through the yellow light as it turns to red.

There's a new trend by the "Hang up and drive" population in recent years.

If they see you on your phone in front of them, they honk as SOON as the light turns green in case you're not paying attention.

And they leave 1-2 cars lengths between them and the car in front of them. I have actually gone around them and got in front of them.

A few years ago I watched an old woman stop at a light about 1.5 car lengths from the white line in a left turn lane. The traffic light had one of those sensors that detects if a car is in the lane and controls if/when the left turn signal appears. Poor woman sat through 4-5 cycles of the light before the person behind her had to get out and explain to her she needed to pull up.

Drivers who use the road as engineers designed them to be used? Get over it. I'm using the entire road that my tax dollars paid for.

This shite is bad in my area. People just wave each other through with their hands rather than follow the rules of the stop. What is supposed to be a courtesy ends up screwing up the entire system.

This. It is because they are trying to do two things at once and their depth perception is fricked when looking at the phone, so they stop short. Easy tell to what they are doing in the car. I wedge myself in front of them any chance I get to prove a point.

I also love to scare the shite out of people obviously running their light to turn left by jumping out into the intersection when my light turns green no matter what I see.

They're doing it right.

The people who really screw up are the folks who cut across the interstate entrance ramp and get into the right lane of traffic before the people in front of them have merged legally. You should merge when the lane merges with traffic. Getting over across the solid white lines is a recipe for disaster for those in front of you.

I have a Honk If You Love Jesus bumper sticker. One day I was praying at a red light and suddenly I found a lot of people who loved Jesus. It almost felt like a football game. One guy yelled "Go, Jesus,Go!" It also brought people together. Someone behind me must have been from Florida because he yelled something about a sunny beach. Then another guy said "Mother's from there".

A few people got out of their cars and started walking toward me. I bet they wanted to pray. But I noticed that the light had turned green. Good thing because I was the only one who made it through the intersection.

I did this exact thing yesterday. The dude finally looked up and noticed what I had done and started honking his horn and freaking the frick out. I laughed the rest of the way home.

But ya, if I notice the person in front of me on their phone, I honk the second the light turns green.

Does Driver's Ed even teach this knowledge anymore? I swear to god, no one knows the rule on this anymore. Same thing for a blinking red light at an intersection. Best I can tell drivers just say frick it and go, no clue what to actually do.

What gets me is when you arrive at the same time(4-way) as the car directly across the intersection from you. Then the car across goes at the same time as you do but takes a left in front of you without signaling and looks at you like you're wrong.
