Had that bronco in high school , now have a 2000 Tacoma 4x4 . Toyota hands down . Don't know anything about the defender , looks expensive to fix . If your in the mud enough , something will break .

I have a 68 Ford Bronco and a 70 International Scout under the shed with hopes of one day bringing them back to life. I also have a 71 International Travelall that runs. Cool old trucks.

Drive Defender
Sell FJ
Burn Bronco

I had a gray market Defender 90 with the 200tdi diesel engine in the late 90s and while you could see the panel gaps from space it was dead simple and just worked nothing like the issues of even contemporary Discos etc. It got hit in the back by a delivery truck and totaled mainly due to no parts availability. I got an FJ 40 to replace it and it was a great machine but nowhere near as capable, it got replaced when I found a mint 1982 LR 110 Series III also with a diesel. Always wanted a spare on the hood. I drove it for 8 years without a single issue (the 82 was when they had all the issues fixed for heavy duty use so it was a rock) and sold it to a friend who still drives it. I just got tired of a safari vehicle with no AC and limited highway speed.

The only fun safari-esque SUV I would rather have than a Defender and maybe a Unimog would be a late 80s early 90s gray market Mercedes Gelandewagen.

Defender 90 with the 200tdi diesel

I used to drive this in the northern Spanish mud and caolin.

Indestructible.

Three speed.

The Defender is worth money, the Land cruiser is a beast, and the Bronco gets burned.

I LOVE that Bronco, BTW

Drive - The old Bronco. It's the keeper. Classic American iron.

Sell - The Toyota. Prices have come down some, but a nice example will still draw a crowd.

Burn - The Landcruiser is the odd man out.

That model Bronco is among the most badass 4 wheel drive vehicles ever made. Also low maintenance, and as somebody noted, the value today on one in good condition is through the roof.

Rover and 'Cruiser both good 4x4's. Reliability not so good tho.

I laugh at anyone burning the bronco. A bronco with a coyote motor in it and restored sells for more than the other two combined. There are half a dozen places around the country selling them for over 200k and they do sell.

As bad as it sounds, I would burn the Toyota and I love the FJ40 but they are the worst driving of the bunch and the lowest valued typically.

The D90, I would sell for the 60k price tag you can fetch for it.

Drive the Bronco or park it and let the value keep going up.

Burn the Ford. If I had to choose one.

I like all three. Just like the Toyota and Land Rover a little more.
