How often have you been hard up for water that this has crossed your mind?
Doesn't have drinking water, but does have the money to buy, and power to operate a dehumidifier.

I mean… it’s better than dehydrating to death. The water is moisture from the air that you’re breathing in anyway.

Sounds like a great way to contract Legionnaire's Disease..

Yeah, I mean, you can drink your own piss straight from the tap as a last resort when you’re dying.

I’d rather go find a puddle than dehumidifier water

If you’re running a dehumidifier in your house, I’d say the odds are pretty good that you also have a kitchen sink with a working faucet.
I mean, unless you’re a deadbeat and haven’t paid your water bill.

The after lunch gummy kicked in and that shite had me giggling.

safe to use the humidifier water to water your plants.....but wouldnt use it for anything else
I've actually done this just because the big dehumidifier we run in the dead of Summer is right by two huge house plants that, in turn, get dried out from it a bit.

I just water plants with ours. That’s as far as I’ll go with it because I have no clue what it’s using to pull water out of the air.

Probably if you boiled it and filtered it.

Drinking from the toilet would bring the same result, but, I am giving you a brief nod for living this long and making me laugh my arse off.

The main issue I see is that it's essentially distilled water, like rain, and therefore has no mineral component. As you drink it, it will leach nutrients from your body that you need. There are ways to remineralize it, though.

I mean if you wake up with some class 10 cotton mouth you do what’s necessary l suppose.

You ever looked or cleaned the filter on that thing. Nasty like a window unit

We have a small indoor dehumidifier that pulls out 10 gallons from the air over a week’s time.
I was curious and tested the pH and it was slightly acidic, but a lot of fluids we drink run are similarly acidic on the pH scale.
I was thinking about this the other day when we have boil alerts and other water issues. Would this be a safe alternative if needed?
Add in some baking soda to elevate the pH to 7.2 if you’re worried.
People like you are the reason warning labels exist.
Let me guess, you've definitely tasted a Tide pod before, haven't you...

Let em hate Blue. I've thought about it too!

It's much better if you lick the coils.

This is exactly one of the reasons I peruse the OT.

was just coming to post this... drinking it straight from the dehumidifier, while not only gross as frick, it could actually cause more problems than it's worth..
but i guess, considering the fricking IQ of some of these mouthbreathers around here, i shouldn't be all that surprised that this question is being asked
