isn’t that where the rumored BR Buccess was going to be?
—impossible in that location unless it’s gonna be the smallest Buc-ee’s in the US with the smallest Buc-ees’s parking lot

Maybe they're turning it back into Blockbuster Music.

I'm not an expert on property management, but isn't it a little strange that the owners would buyout the remaining contract of the tenants to kick them out unless someone was willing to pay them a whole lot more money to stay there?

It happens more often than you think. I’ve seen things go permanently vacant because of this

Same as others from New Orleans who didn't make it in BR: Galatoire's, Mandina's, etc. The only Dragos location worth a damn is the one in Metairie.

Talk about a stale restaurant vibe

I felt like I was in a Piccadilly. There was nothing unique or eclectic about this place just blah.

They bought the naming rights in BR. It’s not owned by the family in Nola. Fat city location is good. BR location always sucked. I questioned why they would jeopardize their name to let some idiots in BR ruin it.

We tried it, and it was nice; however, there are much better chargrilled oysters elsewhere in town. Theirs was not as good as Mansur’s, Parrain’s, Chimes, FMB, or Anderson’s.

Roux 61 Diablo’s are the best in BR

Not sure where the data point of their lease being bought out is coming from.

Article says they just lost it. That could also be landowner either electing not to renew with them, or wanted a rent increase with a new lease that Dragos wouldn’t accept.

Drago's Seafood Restaurant will be temporarily closing our Baton Rouge location in late January 2025. We were bought-out of our current lease and are in the process of negotiating a new home for Drago's Bato Rouge.

We will share updates very soon.

The oysters are great. The rest of the food isn't worth the price

Move over to St George and you’ll have record profits. Bank it.

I think Drago’s does awesome chargrilled oysters. If I want oysters, and only oysters, then it’s at the top of my list.

If I want anything else, though, even just a simple cup of gumbo to go with the meal, I’m not going there. Everything other than the oysters ranged from meh garbage.

They may be tearing it down, but that would be a terrible location for a Bucees. Imagine the traffic snarls would be epic.

but the one in Baton Rouge sucks?

First of all it’s too wide open. You feel like you’re in a Walmart with a bunch of tables. That building was a Blockbuster then F.Y.E.
Secondly the menu needs drastic help. We got an appetizer that had spinach in it and it was awful. Bland, zero spice or taste. We almost walked out right then.

The one in Lafayette sucked too. No idea how they stayed open as long as they did, it was always empty
