I'd love to hear any qualifications past running Southern, which doesn't exactly inspire confidence since Deedy's crooked BIL used to run the school.
true story
i used to be an executive at a downtown hotel
we had a bayou classic contract with southern for housing where southern received a commission on the room rate
we always credited their master account in the amount of the commission which would offset some of their expenses...until ralph slaughter started asking for the commission to be paid in cash

I don't think he was fired. It kinda sounds like a contract dispute.

well she's under the microscope after that massive frick up. So I think its fair people question her judgement at this point. She's surrounded herself with tons of questionable types so far, I tried to be open minded about her but I'm leaning more towards her being incompetent now.

Agreed. I don't think he could do much with the Southern thing. They weren't renewing his contract. But he's at least respected at City Hall given that he's worked for Screen & Kip.

This site may crash if BR gets caught in a male Rachel Dolezal fiasco.

Bell resigned after The Advocate reported that he did not hold the master's in public administration he claimed on his resume. Bell also had been fired from at least three previous government jobs, while he maintained he'd resigned from two of them. He started Baton Rouge's chief administrative officer job April 17 and resigned April 21, and his offer letter made public Monday said he would have been paid $144,019 annually.
holy shite

Pretty much. She's trying too hard to fill all her positions with people based on their color. shite needs to get done too you know. It helps to hire the best at the position regardless of their color from time to time.

Same crowd that reassigns William Broussard from AD to assistant to the president for institutional advancement for no apparent reason, and had Roman Banks doing double duty as AD and Head BB coach until recently.

Bell's issues aside, the right person with proper experience, it's worth every penny. As I said last week, from the management and organizational front, you are the Mayor. The elected Mayor handles ceremonial and policy.

Meh, I wouldn't call it fired. His contract was up and he didn't want to agree to a stipulation they wanted to put in to extend his contract for another year.

The move came after Southern System President Ronald Mason recommended that the board extend Llorens' contract for an additional year, however that recommendation came with the stipulation he agreed to more oversight in running the Baton Rouge campus. Llorens declined, saying it would strip him of his authority.

IOW, never ever mention this embarrassing frick up again.
don't worry Mayor, I am confident you will provide weekly, if not daily, displays of your incompetence.

She's under pressure from her constituency to fill all executive positions with blacks.
