We're seniors and downsizing our house needs to a smaller location. We have too much stuff and would like to donate items to a reputable charity. Quiet a bit of stuff such as kitchen items, clothing, furniture, books, garage items etc etc
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Located in Baton Rouge, La

Salvation Army. Something like 94% of their proceeds/donations go directly to helping the poor. Very little overheard and bureaucracy.

Even if donating, hiring an estate sale company to do it may still be the most efficient way if you’re liquidating a whole house worth of stuff.

They’ll take a cut, but it’ll get it done right and you can donate the check.

my wife works with several messcans, good people, and they're always looking for items for their church, sounds like they have sort of a "Goodwill" type store for raising money, come to think of it, my mother's church has one of those too

A lot of these charities don’t want stuff unless it is in good shape and I don’t blame them

The poor people don’t want to put your old furniture in the back of their new Cadillac and your old plates aren’t good for serving steak and crab legs
